Liesl and Westley wanted their fun Melbourne wedding to also celebrate the city they love.
“We love Melbourne and we had no doubts that we should celebrate with all of our close family and friends in this wonderful city,” Liesl, 31, says of the April 24, 2016 celebrations.
“We chose the unique venue that is Red Scooter. It was absolutely perfect.”
Liesl and Westley, 32, wed at St Michael’s, Berwick, in front of 180 guests, with music from someone special.
“Since I remember, Dad has been the choir leader, or maestro as they used to call him. So when I expressed that it would be nice to have a choir he made one for us,” Liesl says.
“They played and sang beautifully.”
The music continued at the reception, where talented Wez began singing in the middle of his speech. Liesl says there was not a dry eye in the house.
“That’s what I love about him. He is fun and caring and he never seizes to surprise me and take my breath away,” she says.
“We danced the night away and we managed to dazzle everyone with a fantastic bridal party dance routine which our awesome friends pulled off perfectly. It was the happiest day of our lives, simple, dynamic and ours.”

Liesl found her dream dress and had it made perfect for her by Bridal Alterations. “The ivory tulle over the champagne underlay gave it a beautiful shade. The gold lace trimmings were the cherry on top for this exquisite gown. I felt like a princess!” she says.
The bride arrived in style in a 12-seater Chrysler limo from Enrik Limousines.
Westley and his groomsmen cut fine figures in suits from Andre J Menswear.
“I fell in love with the royal blue colour of these dresses, every time I saw this shade I would just stare at it,” Liesl says of her bridesmaid dresses.
Using old school vinyl records found at Savers, Liesl DIYed the table numbers. “We both love our music so we themed each table to a famous band or singer we love.”
The bride had a friend make the delicious wedding cake, complete with custom-made cake toppers that included their fur baby.
