15 years before their O Bar & Dining wedding, Linda and Chris met in a failed set-up attempt by mutual friends. “The timing just wasn’t right,” says Linda. “Years later, we crossed paths again online and hit it off right away.”
After a romantic eco-cottage proposal, the couple planned a winter wedding on July 17, 2022, for 26 guests. Their romantic ceremony at Saint Petka Orthodox Church was followed by an intimate reception dinner at O Bar & Dining.
“We envisioned a colourful, moody, and warm environment for our winter wedding,” explains Linda of their wedding aesthetic. O Bar & Dining set the scene for a refined celebration overlooking the glittering city skyline and Opera House. The orange and pink hues of the floral arrangements were mirrored perfectly by the setting sun as guests enjoyed welcome cocktails and canapés.
Linda wore an ethereal gown with flowing statement sleeves, paired with bejewelled cream heels and a cathedral length veil. Matching in understated elegance, Chris opted for a bone suit jacket and classic black bowtie.
An intimate a la carte dinner was served by O Bar & Dining’s culinary team with a menu showcasing stunning Australian seafood. Sydney baker Belle Bakes created a minimalist tiered cake with architectural ivory fondant for the occasion. After the cake was cut, Linda and Chris mingled with guests. “We loved the fact we could get around to every table and have conversations with all our guests,” Linda and Chris reflected. “It was a very intimate and special occasion with those closest to us.”
As the celebration slowed towards the end of the evening, Linda and Chris relaxed together on O Bar & Dining’s chic velvet chairs, enjoying a celebratory glass of champagne, and taking in the stunning Sydney view.
O Bar & Dining was a classy venue for our winter wedding, plus it offered delicious food. As it was a restaurant with an amazing view and a dimly lit restaurant it fit the mood we were going for – which was dark, intimate and full of florals.
