When you need to pull off an impressive proposal, help is required.
Sydney’s Chloe Bickersteth, 25, and Tim O’Connor, 26, met at their church youth group and became fast friends. But it took a little while longer, after an on-again-off-again relationship, for them to seal it with an ‘I love you’. Fast-forward to the 2015 New Year and Tim had planned the perfect proposal – with the help of his parents and brother.
“Just after New Year’s Eve in 2014 Tim took me to a waterfall down near Bowral where his parents live,” explains Chloe. “After a short early-morning bushwalk, and rose petals coming down the stream – courtesy of his brother standing upstream – he got down on one knee and proposed.”
The couple married at their classic wedding on December 5, 2015 with a church ceremony and formal reception in NSW. “We got married at the same church as my brother in Killara, a church where my family had gone as children,” describes Chloe. “Then we got in a beautiful Jaguar and drove to Abbotsford for a sit-down dinner, speeches, and a dance floor that went off!”

Chloe added a touch of baby’s breath to her elegant up-do.
The church where the pair were married was attended by the bride’s family for several years.
“It was the first dress I tried on,” says Chloe of her Bella Donna lace gown.
The bridesmaids in lavender were a lovely coupling for the groomsmen in navy.
“To be honest, our wedding was a bit of a blur,” smiles Chloe.
