Chelsea and Che’s engagement didn’t exactly follow the traditional script.
The Perth pair headed to a wedding open day to ‘get a rough idea’ of what their big day might cost.
“I told Che I was definitely not booking anything today,” Chelsea, 31, says. “Well I found the place I would love to get married at, and as we were walking away Che says ‘so shall we book it then?’ So we ended up booking a venue before the ring.”
Chelsea and Che, also 31, chose Mulberry on Swan for their rustic river wedding on May 18, 2018.
102 guests from across the country and overseas converged at the riverside venue for the celebrations.
“The day couldn’t be any more perfect,” Chelsea says.
“I just wanted a fun wedding where everyone would enjoy themselves just as much as us, so there were lawn games and great music where everyone was up and dancing into the early hours of the morning.”

Chelsea and Che met at a music festival and the connection was instant. They have since bought a house together and travelled the world.
The couple is full of praise for marriage celebrant Kimberly McKerras, of KM Celebrations. “She made everything so easy and was lovely to get along with,” Chelsea says.

“Our wedding went above and beyond my expectations, the day its self was magical,” Chelsea says. “The photos have turned out amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer, plus I sang to my new husband instead of doing a speech!”
