A romantic castle wedding was always in the cards for Cassie and Daniel. They flirted with the idea of a destination wedding in Europe or Asia, before they found The Manor Basket Range, Adelaide.
“Castles are a rare commodity here, so our options were limited to three or four in Australia and one over in New Zealand,” explains Cassie. “We also definitely wanted to still do a wedding outside of Sydney so that our guests could make a properly holiday of it and we could all fully immerse ourselves.”
The Manor provided an all-inclusive experience for Cassie and Daniel, who stayed on site within the enchanting stone-walled castle. The Sydney couple hadn’t been to Adelaide previously, so their wedding marked their introduction to The City of Churches — and what an occasion for it!
In The Manor’s dressing room, Cassie went about her bridal beauty preparations and slipped into her first gown of the day. The Brides of Sydney design featured a long train which perfectly fit the fairytale aesthetic. “The bigger the better I thought!” laughed Cassie. Classic lace was perfectly combined with modern aspects, including open boning detail, for a fresh take on the classic princess dress.
Accompanied her bridesmaids, dressed in olive satin dresses also by Brides of Sydney, Cassie arrived at the aisle with her father by her side. For their ceremony, the couple chose The Manor’s charming chapel, nestled in the venue’s sprawling gardens. In a poignant detail, Daniel’s sister officiated the ceremony. The beaming guests showered Cassie and Daniel with jasmine confetti as they left the ceremony as husband and wife.
Sven Studios captured beautiful wedding portraiture of Cassie and Daniel in the gardens of The Manor. “Sven and his wife are amazing in that they know the venues in Adelaide so well and can direct everyone perfectly,” says Cassie. “Sven can yell over any wedding noise, plan around the chaos, and made sure to nail all the right shots. We loved the variety that they took and how many natural lovely moments that were captured. ”
Chandeliers, brass candelabras, and olive accents decorated The Terrace Room for Cassie and Daniel’s reception. After photographs and videography with the team from Sven Studios, Cassie changed into her second dress: a light, flowing and feminine number. “I wanted the opportunity to eat as much food as possible… whilst boogie-ing all night long on the dance floor!” says Cassie of her decision to opt for a dress change.
A photo booth by Sven Studios and tunes from Rocket Entertainment kept guests engaged, while a three-course meal from the culinary team at The Manor ensured everyone was satiated. When it came time for the wedding cake, Cassie and Daniel had DIY’d a four-tier masterpiece from Woolworths mud cakes — Cassie’s favourite!
For their romantic first dance, Cassie and Daniel choreographed a routine to a version of Frank Sinatra’s ‘The Way You Look Tonight’, before bringing their mothers to the dance-floor for Tina Turner’s ‘Proud Mary’. As the vibe ramped up, the guests fired party poppers to signal that the party portion of the evening had well and truly begun.
“The Manor Basket Range was just perfect and the team did such an amazing job looking after us. Everyone kept telling us leading up to the day to not sweat the small stuff, but we honestly never felt like we had to because The Manor’s team just had everything under control. Our wedding really was all in the little details and we’re so grateful to all of our suppliers for making that happen.”
