Candace Caruana and Jacob Abela, both 25, say they were made for each other.
The Liverpool, NSW couple met at high school but didn’t get to know each other until a summer holiday with mutual friends. Then bam, the two were inseparable. “Jacob and I are more than best friends; we spend a lot of time together and when we aren’t, we are texting or emailing each other and never run out of things to say, as if we were created for each other,” she smiles.
They chose to celebrate their elegant wedding with 130 guests on November 21, 2015. A ceremony at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Horningsea Park was followed by a reception at Dockside in Cockle Bay Wharf. “When I was driving to the church I was so nervous, but the moment I saw Jacob, I felt instantly calm,” recalls Candace.
The bride hand made guests’ favours making lolly jars filled with mini musks. “We added some pink twine under the lid and a little ‘thank you’ tag we designed and printed,” she says. The table numbers, menus and kids’ colouring books were also made by the couple.
A special shout-out goes to Andonietta Couturier – the bride’s seamstress. “Andonietta was amazing! She came on the wedding day to help make sure I was dressed properly,” smiles Candace.
