It took Matt less than 24 hours of first meeting Jess to declare that one day she would be his wife.
The Sydney couple met at a financial services conference, which Jess, 30, was covering as a journalist. She describes Matt, 36, as the most handsome broker she had ever met.
“I liked him immediately. And, (thankfully) Matthew felt the same way. In fact, by the end of the night, Matthew decided to make a public announcement to all the conference attendees that he had met his future wife and her name was Jessica!” she says.
“Fast-forward five years though, and a lot of those conference attendees were at our wedding.”
The pair began dating, and a couple of years later bought their first house together. It was while exploring their new home for the first time that Matt popped the question.
“Not only did I just pick up the keys to a home that I bought with my best friend, but now that best friend was telling me he wanted to be with me forever. It was the single greatest day of my life. And I think he had a pretty good day too,” Jess recalls.
The couple held their classic wedding about 15 months later, with the ceremony at Matt’s high school chapel – King’s School Parramatta – before the reception at the Deckhouse in Woolwich Pier.
One hundred and ten family and friends joined in the celebrations on September 3, 2016.
“Despite arriving almost an hour late to the ceremony, the wedding day was perfect and neither of us could have asked for anything better,” Jess says.
“At the end of the day, there is nothing better than marrying your best friend and partner.”

“We didn’t stop smiling the whole day,” Jess says. “There were a few hiccups… but nothing could dampen the spirit of the day.”
“Dale was amazing,” praises the couple of DC Images. “Not only was he great fun, his photos were superb.”
