“The secret garden was just that, a private and intimate space that surrounded us in green foliage.”
Wrapped in the smiles of 18 of their nearest and dearest, Jessica and Andrew’s Burnham Grove Estate elopement was a micro celebration packed full of love.
The Sydney duo who met at work wed on a Monday on the first day of autumn; March 1, 2021. It was an idyllic blue-sky day. With exclusive two-night access to the 40-acre destination wedding venue in Camden, NSW, their weekday wedding was modern, romantic, and unhurried.
Surrounded by lush garden greenery that made their burnt orange colour palette pop, Jessica and Andrew exchanged vows in one of Burnham Grove Estate’s most prized alcoves; the Secret Garden. After celebrant Del Edwards made their union official, the homely congregation ambled around to the charming Palm Garden, met by a fresh, resort-style bridal table at which everyone had a place.
Jessica says their laidback approach that focused on the marriage itself reduced stress and expectation. Her advice to other couples: “Don’t lose sight of what and who is important on one of the biggest days of your life.”
Burnham Grove Estate was the perfect venue for us because it offered an all-inclusive elopement package that removed all of the fuss and extravagance, without compromising on the finer details. We utilised the property to its absolute fullest, celebrating both our ceremony and reception outside in two separate garden areas. We wanted a space that would make our 18 guests feel as special as they are in our lives. The level of co-ordination by the venue was above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. Nothing was too big or small of an ask and they appreciated the calm yet organised approach we took to our day. It truly was effortless.

Real or faux florals, can you tell the difference?
We opted for artificial everything! Given the hundreds (close to a thousand) spent on florals, and being married on a 33-degree day, we couldn’t have made a better choice. This is inclusive of our arbour, table setting and bouquets. I find artificial flowers are looked upon with a bit of distaste at times but there are some gorgeous suppliers who are prepared to bring your dreams to reality without being able to tell the difference.

BROWSE FLORISTS“We went with very modern and fresh tones for makeup that complimented the different skin tones and types of each girl.”
I chose a messy bun that was styled to perfection whilst the girls had glamorous Hollywood curls to accentuate their gorgeous long thick locks.
