First comes love, then comes… wait, this is the 21st century!
Alison Wallfried and Peter Thanos were lucky enough to welcome their beautiful baby girl, Sienna, after just over two years together. “We hadn’t talked marriage yet but we knew we were going to be together forever and couldn’t wait to start a family,” smiles Alison, 28.
A proposal followed not long after in front of friends and family on Peter’s 35th birthday. “I brought out his birthday cake and he started to make a speech and when he started to get all emotional it crossed my mind that this could be it! It was beautiful to be able to share that moment with all our loved ones,” Alison says.
Their vintage bohemian wedding was celebrated with 100 guests on August 24, 2013. They were married at St George Greek Orthodox Church in Thebarton, Adelaide, followed by a reception at Jolleys Boathouse Restaurant.
“Pete gave me the honour of planning most of the details of our special day and just tagged along to important meetings,” explains Alison. “Before we knew it, our day was here and it was truly the best day of my life. Having our daughter with us made it even more special.”
Alison and her bridesmaids’ bohemian luxe accessories were by Samantha Wills. Female guests received a piece from the same collection as bomboniere.
Alison’s figure-hugging fishtail gown was from CPop Bridal Couture in Adelaide.
The bride says her wedding day was “an intimate event for our dear friends and family to witness our love and really ‘share’ our day with us.”
Alison’s bridesmaids were dressed by Zimmerman and created the boho look with flower crowns from Sportsgirl.
