Blooming lovely: Monique and Alex’s elegant floral wedding

Monique Van Hoof and Alex Stopp’s elegant floral wedding wasn’t just about their own union.

“It is also the joining of our son Harry as one complete family,” Monique, 23, explains.

She and Alex, 27, met on a night out in Adelaide and after some detective work over Facebook they met up again and quickly became inseparable.

“Alex and I met young and it was truly meant to be from the first meeting, consolidating our love with our beautiful baby boy,” Monique says.

The couple held their elegant floral wedding at Mount Lofty House in the Adelaide Hills on March 17, 2017, watched on by 80 friends and family.

“From the breathtaking view, to the flowers in bloom. Alex and I wanted an outside ceremony and felt this was perfect for us, both from the country it had little parts of home in the scenery for both of us,” Monique says.

Celebrations continued for the Port Augusta couple at the same venue in a reception room decked out with beautiful blooms.

“The love, laughter and joy that filled our ceremony and reception was infectious,” Monique says.

“Our marriage was not only the joining of Alex and I as a couple but as a family with our precious son Harry.”

Monique had a vision for her wedding day flowers in burgundy, blush, ivory and green and said she was thrilled with the result.

Huge floral letters made a statement at the couple’s Adelaide Hills celebrations.

“From meeting whilst at college, to starting a family and then new careers in another town our love has outlasted many tough times and for that we are so thankful for our ongoing support of one another,” Monique says of the couple’s strong bond.

Monique sourced her gorgeous gown from Jenny & Gerry’s Bridal Centre. “The girls were lovely and assisted in every way possible,” she says.

Alex and his groomsmen looked sharp in classic black tuxedos from Peter Shearer Menswear.

 

“Amazing! I highly recommend Mt Lofty House, from check in to the setup of our wedding, right through to the reception. The staff took the stress out of our day and we had multiple guests comment on the service provided from all staff on the night. 10/10,” praises Monique.
