Best friends Kristina and Sam’s relaxed rustic wedding at Perth Zoo

Kristina and Sam were best friends for “the longest time” before their relationship blossomed.

“We met playing volleyball way back in 2011,” Kristina says.

“We were friends initially, he pursued me and waited patiently. We finally started dating and it was the best decision I have ever made!”

Their first date was at Perth Zoo, so when the hunt was on for wedding venues it made sense to return there.

“Sam and I love the zoo so much, with its lush gardens and beautiful marquee for the reception,” Kristina says.

Ninety friends and family attended the relaxed rustic wedding on January 11, 2020, where the bride says the vibe was chill and fun.

“Obviously I’m completely biased, but it was the most amazing day that I will never forget,” Kristina says.

“I think my absolute favourite part of the day was that my parents hired the vintage carousel for an hour, canapes and drinks were served around it before heading over to the garden marquee and my guests all got to ride on it multiple times and have so much fun.

“My wedding day was absolute magic.”

Kristina travelled in style courtesy of Bling Limousines. Her bridesmaids wore miss-matched outfits in the same colour palette, while the flowergirl and pageboy looked cute in outfits from Ollie’s Place Kidswear.

“Kylee was the most amazing celebrant, warm and fuzzy and SO enthusiastic about love,” smiles Kristina of Kylee Payne Civil Marriage Celebrant.

“Marrying my best friend surrounded by all our closest family and friends has hands down been the best day of my life,” Kristina says.

The newlyweds spent their wedding night at The Ritz-Carlton, Perth.
