He envisioned a beachside wedding. She was dreaming of a garden celebration. Fortunately, their Barilla Bay Oyster Farm wedding delivered on both fronts.
Chelsea and Stan knew they wanted their wedding day to involve fantastic food in a beautiful location with a point of difference. Barilla Bay Oyster Farm couldn’t have been a better match for the couple.
Renowned for its delicious seafood, the picturesque coastal venue offered a hidden oyster beach tucked around the corner from the garden ceremony area. With the restaurant’s stunning water views and polished timber floors, Barilla Bay Oyster Farm ticked all the boxes for Chelsea and Stan’s March 18, 2022 wedding.
The couple celebrated their hens and bucks parties in unique style two days before the wedding— with go-karting and golf for the boys, and a pottery class, followed by dinner at Chelsea’s favourite greek restaurant in Hobart for the ladies.
On her wedding day, Chelsea wore a Madi Lane gown, with a romantic a-line silhouette and floral applique, which was selected with the help of the consultants at Luv Bridal. The look was finished with a custom, flowing veil from Michelle Pagonis, a design now christened “The Chelsea” and available for other brides to buy! The oyster farm location was echoed in details like the personalised pearl-studded denim jackets for Chelsea and her bridesmaids.
Following the heartfelt and intimate ceremony, Nick of Nick H Visuals captured the couple with their wedding party and families on the secluded oyster beach. “Nick was fantastic,” says Chelsea. “He was relaxed, easy-going, and, honestly, just the best at communicating and keeping us informed during the whole wedding planning process.”
At the restaurant reception, the moodiness of the burgundy and black colour palette was broken up by metallic accents. These included the geometric table decorations in gold and rose gold, and the cake by A Tiny Bit Marvellous topped with copper flecked shards of tempered white chocolate.
“We exchanged vows on the grass with our soloist, Joely, playing music, which continued into the canape hours… After the ceremony, guests could walk a short distance to the gazebo area for canapes and refreshments with live music, before going upstairs into the restaurant where the reception was held. We had a pumping DJ, our wonderful friend Matt as our MC. A highlight was our photo booth to send guests home with a keepsake of the night— even Yiayia loved it!”

CHECK OUT MICHELLE PAGONIS“There was no cake left over at the end of the wedding, and people were messaging me a week later raving about the white chocolate layer.”
I sent a hand sketch to the team from A Tiny Bit Marvellous of what we wanted, and they replicated it in the most beautiful way.

CHECK OUT A TINY BIT MARVELLOUS“My consultant at Luv Bridal could tell how disheartened I was after trying on the dress I had fallen in love with online.”
It was beautiful, but I felt that it didn’t suit me at all. My consultant turned everything around by recommending one dress. I tried it on, and was so pleased that I paid for it on the spot.
