Gabie & Scott's easy breezy Austinvilla Estate wedding

Chilled-out couple Gabie and Scott wanted their wedding to be just like them – Austinvilla Estate in the Gold Coast Hinterland was exactly that (and more.)

On August 15, 2020, Queensland couple Gabie and Scott; their country-chic wedding party of 10, and around 60 more loved ones, celebrated near on a decade of love.

The high school classmates began dating after their 2011 graduation and, eight years later, atop a New Zealand glacier with their baby boy and a few best friends, Scott proposed.

Describing their style as rustic and boho, Austinvilla Estate‘s appeal extended beyond the couple’s neutral yet free-spirited aesthetic. With unique boutique accommodation on-site that includes a treehouse, bunkhouse, country cottages and a regal suite, guests had somewhere special to stay helping to create the unhurried vibe they were going for.

First up, Austinvilla’s open-air pavilion greeted guests for Gabie and Scott’s alfresco wedding ceremony. Then, the expansive resort-style grounds played host to lawn games and cocktail hour while bridal party portraits were being taken. And lastly, an easy-breezy, roving indoor and outdoor cocktail reception was catered, which “allowed our guests the freedom to roam outside and enjoy the romantic fairy lights setting, or sit inside at the tables or lounges,” describes Gabie.

It included three different food stations (burgers, wood-fired pizza, and paella), as well as homemade churros and doughnuts in lieu of a cake.

“The day was a perfect reflection of us,” says Gabie, “our guests still talk about how much fun they had. There’s nothing we would change.”

We wanted a venue that spoke for itself; we didn’t want to have to spend money and time sourcing decorations to spice up the place. We also wanted a venue with accommodation, once again saving ourselves time and money sourcing transport to and from the venue.

Austinvilla is a stunning venue set in the hinterland which offers several different spots for a ceremony, plenty of photo opportunities, accommodation, and a beauty room for the bridal party to get ready in – all in the one place. The staff think of everything and take the stress out of planning. They were a massive help.
