Ashlee and Cameron knew they wanted stunning outdoor photos of their picture-perfect autumn wedding day. Marybrooke Manor’s sprawling gardens and stately facade offered a romantic backdrop.
After the unpredictable autumn weather thwarted the couple from their planned gazebo ceremony, Marybrooke Manor’s charming chapel came through with a perfect setting.
“We rented the Marybrooke Manor‘s Green Haven house for the groomsmen to get ready, and I used the bridal suite,” remembers Ashlee. The bride wore an elegant a-line gown for her wedding day and carried a bouquet in green, blush, and gold.
Before the ceremony, Ashlee and Cameron opted for a heartfelt first look, followed by a photo shoot with Lavan Photography on Marybrooke Manor’s beautiful grounds. “Number one on my list of venue priorities was to have photo opportunities outside in a garden,” says Ashlee. “This was one of the major reasons for picking Marybrooke Manor because the autumn leaves were just so wonderful.”
Sought-after Melbourne celebrant Tim Barnes conducted Ashlee and Cameron’s ceremony, weaving in touching stories and a few cheeky laughs. “Tim Barnes was amazing,” says Ashlee. “He was fantastic throughout the whole process. Plus he was able to roll quickly with the changes and had bubble guns on hand for the groomsmen to use when we were unable to use our petals inside! I received a lot of compliments for finding him and for the great job he did.”
Marybrooke Manor catered a delicious reception feast, finishing with chocolate lava cake and creamy cheesecake with black cherry sauce. “If we had our day again, we would do it exactly the same… except maybe we would eat more of the food and our cake!” reflects the happy couple. Eager to tear up the dancefloor later in the evening, Ashlee swapped her heels for a pair of Keds runners — sparkly ones, of course.
We wanted somewhere that we could both get ready on the day and would have accomodation or be near accomodation for our interstate guests. We also wanted both the ceremony and reception to be in the one place. We toured a lot of venues in our search. Marybrooke Manor stood out because it met all of the above and was absolutely gorgeous. It was an added bonus that Marybrooke Manor did a lot of the hard yards, organising linens, table decor, and the DJ.
