Easy Weddings Prize-Winners: April & Alex’s wedding at The Old Dairy

April and Alex’s wedding was nothing short of spectacular, made even sweeter by winning our Easy Weddings $2500 Wedding Cash Giveaway. From nearly 9,000 entries, April’s name was drawn as the lucky winner, and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the busy couple.

Their celebration took place on April 20, 2024, in Broken Hill, Victoria, at a very personal and charming location – Alex’s brother’s property, lovingly known as “The Old Dairy.” Surrounded by 246 guests, including their families and Alex’s large friendship group, the day was filled with love.

After a rainy lead-up, the skies cleared, and the wedding day was all sunshine and perfect low-20s weather. Their colour palette of white, green, and terracotta brought a laid-back but stylish vibe to the event, with floral arrangements done by April’s closest mates – who happen to be florists in town.

When it came to music, they nailed it. The dance floor lit up with Make My Dreams Come True by Hall & Oates, and the whole crowd belted out Sweet Caroline – an instant winner for good times.

Hosting the wedding on a family property gave it a cosy, local feel. The majority of guests were still Broken Hill locals, so it was a bit of a hometown reunion. Their little girl, Demi, was also in the mix, making the day feel even more special.

As for the honeymoon? It’s still on the cards. After a recent family trip to New Zealand, they’re aiming for Japan in January to catch the snow. The prize money has arrived just in time to make that plan even sweeter.

All in all, April and Alex pulled off a wedding that was full of fun, good vibes, and some serious dance moves.
