For Amanda and Brendan, who got engaged following a romantic living room proposal featuring candlelight and their favourite jazz music, every moment of wedding planning was a fun experience. The 18-month planning period led to a particularly beautiful and modern elegant wedding, inspired by their shared love for music.
“Five things made our wedding special,” explains Amanda. “One, our love for each other. Two, our friends and family witnessing our marriage including my sick grandmother who sadly passed three weeks after the wedding. Three, the greenery and florals. Four, our great food including our fantastic cake. And five, the live music, which was incorporated from the ceremony through to the reception.”
Live music was a must, according to the bride. “We had an acoustic duo of saxophone and guitar at the ceremony and an 11-piece big band at the reception, made up of some friends and colleagues of Brendan’s from the music industry.”
200 guests attended the celebration of love held on a sunny January 25 in 2019. The ceremony was held overlooking the Harbour Bridge on Tarpeian Lawn in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens with their lavish reception following later at The Grounds of Alexandria.

“Splendid Photos & Video went above and beyond – they even helped out with my dress! Before and after the wedding was so smooth and the photos are truly breathtaking,” says the bride.
Their wedding reception was simply magic.
