Falling in love over the internet is one thing, making the relationship happen when you live thousands of miles away is another.
Olga Makharynets of Belarus in eastern Europe fell hard for Aussie beau Aaron Leyshan. He had visited her home country to meet her, and they were engaged six months later when she first travelled Australia. But the process of getting a visa to actually be together forever was tough. “Aaron and I we were apart about seven months … we felt very frustrated because all my applications for visitor visas were refused,” explains the bride, 26 of her relationship with Aaron, 30. But their feelings only grew stronger the longer they were separated.
“In January 2016 I was granted the prospective marriage visa,” says Olga. So the planning for their rustic wedding in Eynesbury Golf Club, Victoria on April 23, 2016 began. Olga’s relatives were not able to attend the wedding, but her other half’s family stepped in. “Aaron’s mother, Anne, was helping me a lot with my bride routine. She was mum for both of us,” smiles Olga.
The intimate wedding of 20 guests was just what the couple ordered after a rollercoaster ride to be together. “Aaron and I are soul mates. We share the same values in life and understand each other without saying a word,” praises the bride.

Olga’s lace Mori Lee gown from Eternal Weddings was chosen with the help of her mother-in-law.
“On the day we set up a laptop on a chair and Skyped the entire ceremony so my mum could still be a part of our wedding,” says Olga.
Olga’s stunning classic red-lip makeup look was created by Jessica Woods Hair and Makeup.
“I always felt my mum’s presence with us because I was wearing her amazing handmade delicate shawl,” recalls Olga.
“We were lucky to have Love St Photography there sharing our special day,” praises the bride.
The dolphin cookies by Fretzy Kookie were a nod to the first gift Aaron ever gave Olga – a dophin necklace with her name engraved on it.
