Booking a fine dining experience was something they do whenever they visit a new country so when Peter popped the question at the rooftop of a restaurant in Spain, Sophie was completely taken by surprise!
“When we were on the rooftop looking out over the ocean, my favourite Sam Cooke song suddenly started playing and I turned around to find Peter on one knee, holding the most spectacular vintage ring we had been looking at for months. Of course, I said yes!” recalls Sophie with a smile.
The Sydney pair, aged 29 and 34 respectively, celebrated their elegant winery wedding at The Convent on November 3, 2019.
“We love food and wine so it was no brainer that Hunter Valley was the perfect choice for our wedding! With so many international guests, we thought to make a weekend out of it so we booked every room at The Convent and had a gorgeous BBQ on the night prior so friends and family could come together,” explains the bride.
“It was such a special day with family and friends from all over the world. I’ve never felt so much love in all my life – from our friends, family and of course, between us as a couple, exactly what a wedding should be about.”

The bride paired her dress with a gorgeous pair of Christian Louboutin.
Sophie and Peter, both English, met on a night out in Sydney. Peter introduced himself after Sophie caught his eye and they spent the whole night getting to know each other. “I really think it was love at first sight,” smiles the bride.
The newlyweds surprised their guests with a display of fireworks to end their night with a bang!
“We were serenaded by Breakfast At Tiffany’s – a Latin-jazz live band all day (ceremony, canape hour and reception),” praises the bride.
