Doesn’t snore – check. Excellent chef – check. No arguments – check.
Chantelle Galbraith may not have written this exact checklist for her perfect mate, but when she met Michael Burge at a friend’s housewarming seven years ago, she knew he was the one for her. “We really can rely on each other and really are best friends,” this 30-year-old bride says of her 31-year-old groom.
In no time they fell in love and after a few years together became engaged while on a beach holiday. Little did they realise they would be announcing more than just an engagement upon their return. They were expecting their first child. “I had been told I couldn’t conceive naturally so it was a lovely surprise,” explains Chantelle.
Fast forward three years to their Brisbane wedding on April 18, 2015 and the couple, now proud parents of daughter Ella, found themselves in the same boat. “During our speech we were able to finally tell everybody that baby number two was on the way,” smiles Chantelle.
However, the special day that made Chantelle’s cheeks hurt “from smiling so much” wasn’t without its hiccups. “An hour before the ceremony, we found out the soloist who was to do the music wasn’t going to show up,” she explains. “There was a shuffle around of speakers and the laptop, so I had at least a song to walk down the aisle to.”

Chantelle’s headpiece wasn’t planned but she fell in love with the Mimco design.
The bride and groom love yellow so chose the sunny colour for the bridesmaid gowns.
The reception was held on the same floor as the ceremony at Rydges South Bank.
