This week, we got to know Jeremy, one of the newest additions to the IT team.
What do you do at Easy Weddings?
I’m a technical lead working in the IT team. This means I’m involved in helping to build and improve our websites and apps, as well as provide technical guidance to the rest of the team. I am responsible for helping to get new and exciting features out to our users, while also ensuring our technology is up-to-date and we are following best practices for software development.
What did you do before you joined Easy Weddings?
I have been doing similar roles at other companies for a while now. I have worked across the university housing sector, for a reward and recognition company and in the travel industry.
What do you like best about working at EW and why?
EW has a great, friendly atmosphere with good work-life balance. Everyone is friendly and supportive, and we work hard but also have fun doing it. The tech team has a good say in how we want to get things done, and I enjoy coming to work in the morning.
What’s something fun we don’t know about you?
I don’t know how interesting this is, but at last count, I have travelled to 19 different countries outside of Australia. Working for a travel company and then for an airline subsidiary gave me the opportunity and interest to get out and explore the world a bit. That has slowed down since my son was born 2 years ago but hopefully, we will take it up again in the not too distant future.
