The last two years have been incredibly testing for the wedding industry, and the increase in case numbers recently has brought with it a whole new set of challenges. To help ease some of the stress, we thought we’d put together some useful tips so you can create a COVID contingency plan for your business.
Forming a COVID-safe plan
If you’re looking to reassure your clients that you’ve got a COVID-safe plan in place, but you’re not sure how to go about it, we have a few tips. Firstly, we suggest posting your COVID-safe policies on your website and socials for couples to refer to, and we’ve included some sample text below if you’re struggling to sum everything up.
Sample text for your COVID-safe plan:
In response to COVID-19 spreading beyond what we could have ever imagined here in Australia, I’ve taken some steps to ensure the safety of myself, my team, and my clients remains a top priority. For your peace of mind, I’m taking all the necessary precautions to help manage my risk so I can be fit and healthy for your wedding, including the following:
- Conducting all meetings over the phone or via Zoom
- Minimising our time in large group settings
- Continuing to wear masks and social distancing
- Using rapid antigen tests to ensure we’re negative and safe to attend weddings
Finding a ‘wedding buddy’
Another way to give couples greater peace of mind in the current climate is to partner with a supplier who can be your ‘wedding buddy’. This should be someone you can rely on as your backup person if you get COVID and can no longer attend a wedding.
If you haven’t already, we suggest joining the Wedding Supplier Network Facebook group. This is a great way to connect with other wedding businesses and reach out for help if you need it.
Communicating with your couples
As well as posting your COVID-safe plan on your website and socials, it’s essential to maintain regular, open communication with your couples. They will no doubt be feeling just as overwhelmed as you are, so reassuring them that you’re excited and well prepared for their wedding day will help ease their nerves.
Another way to reassure your couples is to make it clear that you’re fully vaxxed. For tips on doing this, check out this article, which includes five ways to subtly tell couples you’re vaccinated. We’ve also created a ‘fully vaxxed and wedding ready’ badge for you to add to your website, socials or email signature.
If you have any other questions that we haven’t covered in this article, feel free to reach out to your Account Manager directly to chat about your COVID contingency plans. We’re here to help and completely understand how overwhelming everything feels right now.
