THIS IS NOT A DRILL, PEOPLE. In Portland and Vancouver, USA, you can hire llamas (or alpacas) for your wedding. What an adorable way to entertain guests and not to mention the amazing wedding photographs filled with cute moments! If you are having wedding llamas, invite me to your wedding. Alpaca my bags right now!
Wedding llamas and alpacas
This unique not-for-profit organisation provides animal therapy in order to brighten up people’s days! They visit children’s hospitals, schools, seniors communities and rehab facilities, but they also hire out their professional llamas and alpacas to be part of special events like weddings to raise money for their amazing cause!
Including your own pets in your wedding
Of course, there are other amazing wedding animal options if wedding llamas aren’t a thing wherever you are and you aren’t keen on a destination wedding in Oregon, USA.
You could do what Ashlee and Ben did, and include your dogs with adorable flower garlands to honour their place in your life!
Or, you could put your beloved pet into a bow tie and get a sign for them to wear walking down the aisle as your ringbearer or “best man”.
Alternatively, you could dress up your floofball in a flower crown from your florist!
Have a petting zoo wedding
Why not hire a local petting zoo to come be part of your wedding or DIY it with a playpen and some of your pets or some (docile) animals from a local wildlife farm! This is a surefire way to entertain the children at your wedding and will provide happiness that will outlast the day! It would make keeping the kids entertained a breeze and would be ideal if you’re getting married on a farm or in a barn on a farm property.
Save the animals
If you are a socially conscious animal lover, you could do what this bride did and use animals at your wedding as a way to highlight the importance of adopting animals rather than buying them! She works for a local animal shelter and had her bridesmaids hold foster puppies rather than their bouquets for some of the photos to raise awareness. This made for gorgeous, candid images.
These are all great ways to include furry friends in your wedding that will amaze and delight your guests. Wedding llamas just became part of the budget!
