Adelaide grooms Richard and Dean’s Rydges wedding continued to bring tingles after we drew their name in our Wedding Cash Giveaway.
Wedding industry pro Richard, a planner for Mawson Lakes Retreat, knew what would bring high vibes for his wedding to Dean, on 4 November 2023, at Rydges Adelaide.
The couple chose the top-floor restaurant of the panoramic park-view hotel to celebrate their nuptials with a literal bang – fireworks and dry ice marking the couple’s reception entrance, and emotional first dance to Stevie Nicks’ ballad, Moonlight.
Richard’s 18-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter accompanied him down the aisle, another emotional scene. The couple’s wish for the day was to start on a high and end on a high, assisted by an eclectic setlist of Dean’s favourite Fleetwood Mac songs, and Richard’s more modern Beyonce and Lady Gaga party-starters.
A word of advice from Richard to other couples on the other side of their wedding day: “Just be aware that you might crash afterwards,” he said. He’s looking forward to receiving their final wedding video, which will help to relive the day and keep those high vibes going.
Richard’s name was one of 14,000 entries we drew in our latest Wedding Cash Giveaway competition. The duo are heading off on a three-week road trip honeymoon, travelling up Australia’s east to the sunny Gold Coast. Their prize winnings couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.
