Sydney bridesmaid Amy was rewarded in more ways than one when she took on the job of last-minute hen’s organiser for her best friend Courtney.
Amy McKinnon has won $2,500 in our latest Wedding Cash Giveaway competition — for using Easy Weddings to plan her bestie’s pre-wedding celebration.
With the news that her longtime friend Courtney’s dad had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, wedding and hen’s party planning was brought forward and condensed. This gave Amy just four weeks to pull something together.
Amy jumped onto the Easy Weddings directory for hen’s party inspiration — and came across the House of Hens — a full-service hen’s party planning company.
“They were amazing!”, praises Amy. “I can’t recommend them highly enough. The process was so easy and stress-free. Everything they organised for us was amazing. The food was great, and so were all the places they sent us to.”
The pre-wedding festivities began with a combined hen’s and buck’s activity at Ultimate Paintballing — also organised by House of Hens. Following this, the girls split off for a bottomless brunch at Potts Point bar, Honkas, then boarded a party bus city-bound for dinner at Italian restaurant, Frateli Fresh. The package also included a night at Oaks Hotels.
“All we had to do was pay per head and it was done,” says Amy. We didn’t have to organise or chase up a thing.”
So what will Amy do with her prize money?
“It’s for my son Atlas’s tonsillectomy. His dad passed away last year so winning this money has truly come at the best time. I’m extremely shocked and grateful.”
