There are some parts of your beauty program that can not be started just before your wedding. So like all other aspects of your wedding, plan ahead with our wedding beauty timeline.
Hair
If you plan to try a dramatic hairstyle change, try three to six month in advance. If you do this you will have plenty of time to go back to your natural hair style or try other styles. Have your wedding style trialed two to three weeks prior to the wedding. You may need more than one appointment to do this. Take your headpiece and veil or samples of flowers to the hairdressers as this may affect the style chosen. If you have pictures of styles you like in a magazine take it with you also.
Facial Makeup
Any facial or skin treatments should be conducted two weeks before the wedding. This gives time for any skin blemishes to heal. A full facial will help with the even application of makeup, so it is strongly recommended. You will also need a test makeup done, to choose the appropriate colours and styles of makeup, again if you have found styles you like in a magazine, take it with you so the artist can re-create.
Having your makeup done professionally is the best option for your wedding. They will know how best to apply the makeup to compliment your skin and wedding colours. They are also experts on makeup for photos. It is a good idea to have your hair and makeup trial on the day of a bridal shower, this will give your bridesmaids a chance to see it. You may also like to book a dress fitting for this day so you can see the total look.
Weight Loss
Weight Loss programs should be conducted early and complete at least six months prior to your wedding. You don’t want to have a dress made for you and then find that it is to big for you. For the last six months you should continue your healthy diet that will maintain your weight.

Bride and bridesmaids arrive at beautician to have makeup and nails done.
4 Hours Before
Bride and bridesmaids arrive at hairdressers to have hair done.
2 Hours Before
Bride dresses with help from her mother and bridesmaids.
Bridesmaids and flower girl dress.
1 Hour Before
Bride and bridesmaids gather for photos.
On your wedding day, carry:
- Lipstick for touch-up
- Pressed powder for shine
- Eye shadows for evening touch-up
- Small size perfume
