When Camila Alves walked down the aisle during her wedding to Hollywood hearthrob Matthew McConaughey last month, she glowed, but not only because she was marrying the love of her life, but also because her delicate beaded wedding gown disguised a teeny weeny baby bump.
Yep, the newly minted Mrs. McConaughey was/is pregnant with the couple’s third child.
The couple stayed hush-hush aout the pregnancy throughout the ceremony, which was held at their Texan ranch, but proud dad Matthew couldn’t help but Tweet the news to his 182,630+ followers on July 04, America’s Independence Day. His new wife tweeted a virtually identical message at about the same time.
“Happy birthday America, more good news, Camila and I are expecting our 3rd child, God bless, just keep livin” [sic],’ he tweeted.
They’ve not yet discussed the due date publicly, but when People Magazine, which featured exclusive photos from the couple’s big day, chatted with the groom, he said they intended “More of the same — and more family!”
McConaughey says that when his bride-to-be walked down the aisle, it was a moment, he’ll always remember.
“As soon my head came down the music cued and she walked in and I lost it. It was wonderful and I’ll never forget that moment.”
He told Access Hollywood that it was at that moment he realised how important he was to Camila.
“We had that long like 30, 40 second pause before she came out and started the wedding music and I remember leaning my head back and sort of just thinking and praying…
“I had gone through 42 years of my life and things when you were a child and looking forward to getting married one day and everything.
“Then I went through 29 years of her life and it hit me that here’s this woman that was once a young girl and this is every girl’s dream to find their prince and find their king and to have that fairytale that a young girl has and then grows into a woman, and then it hit me I went, ‘And I’m that man.”
The New Mrs McConaughey’s simple, but stunning beaded lace wedding gown was designed by a 78-year-old family friend, Brazilian dress designer Ducarmo Castelo Branco, who Camila has known since she was a child.
Camila told People magazine, “Ducarmo has been making wedding dresses for her entire life. I guess you can say she has been planning this design for over 20 years.”
Among the guests at the three-day event were many of the couple’s celebrity friends, including Reese Witherspoon, Kenny Chesney and Woody Harrelson and, of course, the most special of all, the couple’s two children, four-year-old son Levi and two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Vida.
Matthew and Camila have been together six years and became engaged on Christmas day 2011.
So, it’s double congratulations to the gorgeous couple!
