Current bridal hair trends are heading towards messy and textured styles, and whimsical looks that make use fresh flowers and Grecian style head pieces.
Hairstylist and Make-Up artist Tina from Gloss Girl says that current bridal hair trends are all about, “lots of curls, braids and buns.” Tina also explains that brides are looking to execute more than one hair style for their big day. “A new trend that has been arising is one look for the ceremony and one for the reception,” says Tina.
Chantelle from Boho Hair + Makeup says that her brides are interested in relaxed styles such as reverse braids and fish plaits. “Brides are moving away from the structured and tightly pulled back styles and moving onto more relaxed styles,” says Chantelle.
She also suggests that when brides look for a hairstyle for their wedding day it’s important to book trials. “Have two styles you want to try for your trial. That way you can experiment. The one you like in a photo may not be what you thought it would look like on you. Try to bring your hairpiece and/or veil to the trial to because then you can really visualise your desired look,” Chantelle says.
