“Hands down, the BEST money spent on our wedding was hiring Ash for the videography! ... On our wedding day, he discreetly captured everything ... We were completely in awe when we received our videos and we can’t stop watching them over and over! We couldn’t believe how incredibly he edited the footage of the whole day so perfectly. I would recommend Ash 10/10 to anyone and everyone.” — Jessica

About
My name is Ashton and I am awkward. But I’m learning to embrace my quirks and see them in others. None of us are perfect, but if we’re lucky we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with our own. My work is to capture that weirdness and celebrate it in all it’s perfectly flawed magic. Be it eloping privately or a huge wedding with the whole family, your day is a celebration. And Tasmania is the perfect place to celebrate uniqueness, authenticity and love together.

FAQ
I'm based in Tasmania, Australia, but I will travel anywhere to tell your story.
Average editing timeline your films will be within 3-4 months. This can vary and I will do my utmost to keep in touch through the editing process.
A million times yes! LGBTQIA+, no matter how you identify and regardless of how you define your relationship, I'd love to be a part of your special day. Love is love.
Life is full of surprises, and planning a wedding, big or small can be tricky. If for any reason you have to reschedule, it's exactly the same as a COVID related reschedule; as long as I'm availbale for your new date, your booking simply moves across to your new dae. However, if my package pricing changes between the dates, you will be required to pay the updated pricing. The booking fee is non-refundable.
Yes! So as long as 50% of your total package price is paid by the wedding day, you are sorted, and I will be there. Think of this as your "shooting cost."
The remaining 50% can be paid weekly, or in bigger chunks. Whatever is most convenient for you, as long as the remainder is paid within 6 months after the wedding date. Think of this as your "editing cost."

My personal favourite part of the day is after family photos and bridal party photos, just getting the couple on their own. It's their first chance to take a deep breath after the sometimes chaotic celebration period, and jsut enjoy each others company. Most of the time they forget all about the cameras and just get to spend their first moments together as husband and wife.
What are the different styles of wedding video?
Awkward Soul
There a lots of different styles of cinematography, it realy depends on the person shooting/editing. My style is a combination of docmentary style with some cinematic elements. My style focuses on being unstaged, candid and in the moment. I try to capture things naturally as they happen without doing too much "staging" with the couple. I find capturing people being themselves and making them feel comforable to do so is what makes for incredible footage and is always my favourite part of the day

I think it's important to meet your videographer in person or on a zoom call to find out if your personalities mesh. You'll be spending a fair bit of time with this person and my main thing is I want couples to feel totally comfortable enough around me to be vulnerable and open on the day. This is a lot to ask of people and I do my best to make couples feel safe and at ease.
Everyone has different styles though, some are more focused on cinematic footage than the emotions of the couple, so find ask the videographer what turns them on creatively, how they work on the day, are they talkative or quiet, etc.
