I have done a mountain of research and the calculations people provide leave us with a figure of about $10k but then when people who have been married make comment it is far less. I just need a realistic figure to put in our budget. We are looking into having the reception as a gin distillery so their drinks are a little pricier but they haven't officially opened yet so I don't have them. Thanks!

Hi Jenna - we would usually recommend a budget of $6000-9000 for a 4-5hr event with 150 guests. We usually find people drink a little more in Summer, a little less in Winter, and of the age and background of your guests can be a factor also. Negotiating a package will help ensure you know what your spend will be and dont get any unexpected suprises at the end when the bill is presented.
Hi Jenna, this will give you a rough idea of how to work out how much you will need to put on a bar tab. Keeping in mind that you know your guests the best in regard to whether they are big or small drinkers. Guests number x time at reception x price per drink. eg 150 guests x 5 hours at reception x $10 = $7,500. Hope this helps, if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me via email functions@thedunesoceangrove.com.au

Hey there Jenna,
Every venue as every couple is different.
You can find a range of venues with different prices. for a 4-5 hour function, I would recommend $35 per person as a minimum.
We currently have a COVID special, offering no minimum spend.
Let me know if you would like more info on that special.
