Do venues charge more for weddings on Public Holidays?

HI All My partner and I are considering getting married on Monday 5/10/20, which is Labour Day in the ACT and NSW. We were wondering if the venue hire would be increased, or if vendors would increase their fees? I understand that many may just charge the weekend rate, which is fine, but I'm just checking. Thanks!

A lot of venues, especially restaurants will charge a Sunday and public holiday fee.

We add 10% to food and beverage costs to cover additional staffing costs, but do not charge extra for venue hire.

We don't for the venue hire, but your vendors may as the labour rates are higher.

Hi there,

If it's not a public holiday in QLD then you will not be charged a fee. I think it's understandable for a business to increase their costs when theirs do. A lot of restaurants actually close in Port Douglas for public holidays as there is simply to margin to open the doors.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
