About

My name is Jess. I am the events manager here at The Independent Gembrook. I am co-owner with Mauro Callegari. Mauro and I worked together 15 years ago. Once returning to work from maternity leave I found myself on the phone calling Mauro to ask if he knew of anyone looking for someone to fill a sales role. Soon after I found myself working with Mauro and the team at The Independent. I love my job, and love Weddings. They are a special moment between two people, and two families.

Our Seated Wedding packages are seven courses.

Each guest, despite their special dietary requirements or allergies will enjoy seven courses when attending a seated Wedding.

The same applies for our cocktail/stand up Weddings, substitute dishes are supplied to each guest to avoid them feeling left out, or going home hungry.

The menu itself is customised by you. You actually design your own personal seven course menu!

Our day was amazing and will never be forgotten. We are so grateful to the team of The Independent for all of their amazing work, aswell as the work leading up to the day. The service was incredible and the food was insanely beautiful. Now that I am back at work I am still getting the same feedback from people - that they really enjoyed the wedding and thought the venue did a fantastic job with the food and service. Many guests said that our Wedding was one of the best ones they had ever attended, and that they are still dreaming about the food.

How long before the wedding date should I be looking at venues?

Wedding date in Sept 2019 - is it too early to start scouting?

The choice is yours.

I always say to couples the longer you book the more likely you will have a full choice of all of your suppliers, the longer you leave it, the more likely they will be booked out.

How many guests constitutes a small wedding?

We are thinking about 55 :)

I would say 50 or less.

Events of 50 or larger can usually occupy the whole venue exclusively, smaller groups of 50 or less can be a simple luncheon or dinner by sharing with or without the public.
