Wetland Walkabout is a unique setting in the middle of Mackay Qld. This is a hidden gem where the country meets the Wetland with nature at its best.

We have set up Wetland Walkabout so brides and grooms can enjoy the openness of this wetland, the woods, and the Butterfly Forest.

We welcome external suppliers, and can refer you to an external supplier for a beautiful marquee if required.

About

I started having weddings in 2016 and haven't looked back, I have always had a passion for weddings and making dream catchers, I love the land and the birdlife that surrounds us. I've created this beautiful spot and love every time we have a wedding. I love helping brides to be and grooms to be make their day magic and something they will remember for a life time.

It was great and they did everything I needed and made the whole process effortless and easy. Amazing venue. The food was amazing also! All our guests really enjoyed themselves.

Due to unforeseen weather damage to our ceremony venue just months out from our wedding Donna from wetland walkabout took in this very flustered bride and gave us the most magical place for our special day. Due to my fiancé being a paraplegic we were certain we would not find anywhere that had a magical forest feel that was accessible yet Wetland Walkabout's Butterfly Forrest ticked every box plus some. We were able to do ALL of our post ceremony photos at the venue and Donna so kindly let us use her personal driveway next door which captures the sunset in the most magical way. There is Shade everywhere with so many native trees, horses, water, marshes, dirt driveways, everything you could ask for.
