OVERVIEW

Marybrooke is nestled on the edge of the majestic Sherbrooke Forest in the Dandenong Ranges.  The magnificent National Trust listed reception venue has guest accommodation and is the perfect one-stop destination for your wedding ceremony & reception.

Built in 1940, Marybrooke began as the grandest guesthouse in a chain of six guesthouses all using the pre-fix of "Mary".  Over recent years Marybrooke has undergone extensive renovations to restore and reinstate the building to reflect it's original charm and elegance.

For ceremonies, we have a picturesque outdoor garden lawn area with gazebo and up to 110 chairs.  Alternatively, our indoor ceremony area has beautiful garden outlooks and is always available as a wet weather fall back. 

Over eight acres of gardens provides ample photo opportunities, but you can also use our heritage drawing room for indoor shots.

With spectacular garden views, our reception room with a large portable dance floor can perfectly reflect your elegant style.  Pre-dinner drinks and canapes can be provided in the Wine Garden with the Manor providing a magnificent backdrop, or in the indoor bar as a fall back.

We offer a flexible range of all-inclusive ceremony & reception packages tailored to your individual needs so your big day is truly personalised.  You can get ready onsite and enjoy breakfast with your guests the next day.  Menu tastings can also be arranged, and we have the Marybrooke app designed specifically for our couples to communicate and store all their important documents.

With 20 recently refurbished four-star accommodation suites and a separate four bedroom cottage able to sleep over 60 guests in total, we can also cater for your guests' accommodation needs.  Breakfast is included in all our room rates.

You can stay at the Manor the night before and spend the day in our bridal lounge getting ready while your partner prepares at the nearby Cottage and enjoys a late check out.  You can also enjoy breakfast with your guests the next morning after spending the night in our complimentary bridal suite.

And remember - we only host one wedding per day, and our restaurant / bar does not trade to the public.

We (Deborah and Andrew Judkins) have worked in hospitality for a vast majority of our careers, stretching over 20 years. With a background in various management roles and a passion for weddings, we have great attention to detail. We love what we do and are very proud of the 18 years that we have owned our wedding reception venues.

    FAQ

    Yes.  The Manor has 20 four star accommodation suites with ensuites, including an apartment which sleeps up to six.  We also have a four bedroom cottage only 300 meters away that sleeps up to eight and is an ideal place for the groom to get ready on the day.  The bride can get ready in our bridal lounge at the Manor.  All acommodation rates include a fully cooked breakfast.

    We can comfortably seat up to 110 guests in our reception room without reducing the size of the dancefloor.  Note the dancefloor is portable, which gives us lots of flexibility with room layouts.  The bar is also accessible from inside the reception room.

    Absolutely.  We have a lawn area set in front of a white gazebo where we provide white Americana chairs for all guests and several additional decorative options.  We also have an indoor Chapel as a wet weather fall back that has lovely garden outlooks and a working fire place.

    Definitely.  Every couple has exclusive use of the venue since we only host one wedding a day.  The restaurant is not open to the public.

    Yes.  Our packages include everything you will need including food, beverages, decorations, placecards, professional DJ and complimentary accommodation for you on your wedding night.  We do not charge for having the bar open for spirit sales, providing an MC, using our grounds for your ceremony or photographs, or for cutting up your cake.

    Absolutely.  Part of our bridal lounge is set up like a make-up / hair salon, so the bride can spend all day there getting ready.  Meanwhile, the boys can enjoy preparing at the Green Haven Cottage - pool table and all!

    No.  You should have exactly who you want at your wedding.  That's why we don't impose a minimum number of guests.  Instead, we have a minimum spend requirement, so if you have a smaller number of guests you can spend the difference on all sorts of optional extras - thereby getting value for every dollar you spend.

    We try to let you have the wedding you really want!  We therefore take pride in customising weddings to ensure they are truly personalised.  This might mean decorative, food, timing or beverage changes.  After all, each couple is unique, so their weddings should be aswell.

    Deb and the team at Marybrooke were fantastic! They went above and beyond to ensure our wedding went flawlessly, allowing us to enjoy the big day. The venue looked amazing with the changing Autumn colours, even better than we had hoped for! Deborah personalised our ceremony, making it very special and memorable. All the recommended vendors were also great, extremely friendly and easy to work with. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with Marybrooke Manor and would not hesitate in recommending!

    We could not have pictured a more amazing wedding day. We knew Marybrooke was for us from the first moment we walked in, not only we were already blown away by the outstanding venue but Deborah and Andrew (the owners) welcomed us with open arms and made us feel completely at home. We looked at other venues and nothing compared to the feeling we felt at Marybrooke. Completely at ease, content and entirely comfortable that Deborah and Andrew would make everything a breeze for us. Deborah is so organised, so quick at responding to queries and so lovely to deal with. She made wedding planning so easy and helped me through my many many many questions in the lead up to the day. We are so thankful for Deborah and Andrew and all of the help they provided in the lead up to the wedding and on the day. Multiple guests commented that it was the best wedding they have been to, the food was amazing and the vibe of the venue was fantastic. Keegan (Marybrooks in house DJ) was our DJ and we couldn’t recommend him enough! He kept the dance floor going all night long. We had so much fun and we have the best memories of our wedding day. We wish we could do it all again!

    My husband and I are so incredibly happy to have had our special day at Marybrooke Manor. The team was incredibly patient and helpful from the very first moment. We went in a few times to have a look around the venue before we decided to book our day with them. Deborah and Rebecca were always prompt with answering any and all queries, and were professional in their conduct with us. In the lead up to the wedding, they were patient and always ready to answer questions or clarify things, or even make small little changes prior to the final payments being made. They allowed us time to set up the room with little trinkets and gifts for the guests the day before the wedding and were really accomodating. They even allowed our musician in the day before to set up ready for our big day. I've said this to them multiple times but it is worth sharing here as well: even though weddings is what they do and they host weddings all the tie, they went above and beyond to ensure that we felt like our wedding was the only one that mattered. The attention and time they dedicated to my husband and I in ensuring our day was perfect was really overwhelming. When it came to our big day, it was absolutely magical. Rebecca was our timekeeper and was updating us on what would happen next or anything that was going on that we should know about. The food was absolutely glorious (as it was in the tasting session) but the guests were also amazed at the quality and presentation of the food. Even the guests with special dietary requirements were pleasantly surprised at how exquisite the food was despite the allergies. A big thank you to the entire team for making this day possible for us and for sharing in this celebration with our families and friends.

    Marybrooke Manor helped us put our wedding together in less than 3 weeks, and I can't recommend them enough. The venue is managed by the owners, so you're not speaking to multiple contacts for putting in the deposit, details, event coordination on the day etc. The owners (Deborah and Andrew) are brilliant, and super hands on - which was great for us, as we were planning quite last minute. We also had a number of specific requests since we were doing a Hindu ceremony outdoors, and they were very accommodating with they were very quick at accommodating their packages to suit our needs. Highly recommend this venue!

    Our wedding was everything we could have wished for. There were so many things that could have easily overwhelmed us in the lead up, but the team at Marybrooke were so helpful, reassuring, and knowledgeable, we felt we were in very experienced and capable hands. The day was so much fun and that was what we ultimately wanted, fun. Our guests had a ball and months on tell us it was one of the best weddings they attended. Being able to stay the night before and get ready on site, along with being able to stay the night of the wedding and wake up and have breakfast with those that stayed allowed us to reminisce with our family and friends straight away.     Are wedding venues only 18+ or can minors attend the reception where alcohol is being served?

    Under 18 can attend wedding venues, however they are not allowed to consume alcohol (regardless of whether their parents give their permission).  Children & teens are most welcome at most wedding venues, however you would need to check with your actual venue if they have their own rules in place.
