October 2024

Beautiful surrounds with exotic animals as an extra feature. Facilities were first class with everything possibly needed, ceremony location, reception hall, overnight accommodation for travelers, bridal accommodation etc. The safari lodges with animal viewing and lodge were a highlight.

November 2022

Taronga Centre was such a beautiful place to have our wedding. Our event manager Rhiann and she is such a bubbly person with a beautiful soul. She helped made our day run smoothly and always replies to my emails with all my questions. Our family and friends love the view Taronga Centre has to offer with the amazing sunset. Food was delicious but the portions for mains could be bigger as my guest were still hungry after canapes, entrees, mains with 2 sides and dessert. All staff we lovely.

We were very impressed with Rhiann, Louisa and the team in running everything so smoothly. All of our guests had a great time. Rhiann is an excellent coordinator and the feedback I have is all positive - amazing with attention to detail and willingness to help every step of the way. I have no hesitation in recommending Taronga!

Do you have any advice on what to look for in a wedding venue?

there are so many options, I was wondering what I should keep in mind

Taronga Zoo Weddings

This is a good question, but one that is also incredibly personal! Your venue is probably the most important piece to setting the scene for your wedding. You should always be prepared with your dreams and ideas before starting the venue search so that you know what questions to ask. Maybe you want a ceiling installation, but not all venues can accomodate this so it is good to get these questions answered up front.
What you really want to look out for, is a venue that can make all or most of your ideas come to life, from the obvious number of guests, down to having a special custom wedding cocktail.

How many guests qualify as a small wedding?

Do venues usually have a minimum?

Taronga Zoo Weddings

There is no definite number that determines a small wedding and it can really depend on the venue space.

We prefer to call them 'intimate' because all the important close family and friends are always there!

Our smallest space can hold up to 60 guests for a seated menu so we often refer to events using this space as a more intimate wedding.

Should I be asking every vendor I inquire with if they are same-sex friendly?

I saw a horror story on reddit about a venue.. so I am now worried.

Taronga Zoo Weddings

If you have any concerns, most definitely ask the venue. But in this day and age most venues will be accepting of couples of all walks of life, regardless of their race, religion, age or sexual orientation.

At Taronga Centre, we celebrate love and that comes in any shape or form.
