Get Expert AdviceCocktail Style Reception Order of Events
Hi All, We are having a cocktail style reception (no sit down dinner) for our wedding. The ceremony starts at 3pm, reception starting at 4pm for 4 hours (8pm). My question is what would be the order of events for the reception? There is no garter or bouquet toss, I'm giving my bouquet to my grandma. My thought is, 415pm introductions > 430pm toasts and speeches > 5pm bouquet to grandma > 515pm cake cutting > 530pm first dances > 6pm party dancing > 745 send off > 8pm end. Does that seem ok? Or do you suggest something different? Thanks!
Two hours gap between the wedding ceremony and the reception.. is this acceptable?
Luna Park Weddings
2 hours is perfectly acceptable, just remember that you will be using this time for a quick catch up and congratulations form your guests, and then your photographer will get your session really started. Ensure you have somewhere for your guests to go once they are no longer needed for shots, such as a bar area or picnic set up, or how about giving them some ride passes in the park! Make sure you have the chat with your venue what they can offer for your guests to make this time as breezy and fun as possible, theres nothing worse than being stood around waiting for a room to be ready and nothing to do!

Hi Belinda
Your schedule looks good and importantly it allows plenty of time for dancing. However as the formalities take over an hour liaise with the venue to ensure there is discreet beverage service during the speeches or you'll lose your audience :)
