Given the extensive range of packages we offer at Rupert, we do things a bit differently than the traditional menu tasting. We open our restaurant every few weeks for our couples to visit the venue and enjoy a specially curated three course set menu. This is a complimentary service in lieu of a tasting session so couples can enjoy a delicious culinary experience in the venue that is designed and cooked by the same kitchen team that will deliver their feast on the wedding day. It’s as much a gesture of good will and reassurance than anything else, and the perfect opportunity to sneak away for a cheeky mid-week date. 

Our wedding packages are highly customisable but have a minimum duration of four hours, with the package starting once the ceremony has concluded.  There is the option of extending the package by several hours, so long as the event concludes within our licensed time frame.  On average, couples opt for a 6 hour beverage package, and often choose to add a welcome cocktail or glass of bubbles for guests to enjoy pre-ceremony.

All-inclusive packages cater for everything you need for your big day including furniture, table and glassware, candles, AV, staffing and cleaning costs, as well as the support and expertise of an allocated wedding manager to set up on the day and ensure everything goes off without a hitch. 

For wedding couples looking to capture their special moments near the venue, you'll be spoiled for choice. The surrounding urban streets offer an abundance of picturesque spots, perfect for capturing candid, vibrant photos—all within easy walking distance. From charming graffiti filled alleyways to stylish cityscapes, there’s no shortage of great backdrops. If Rupert’s own indoor garden inspires, but you want more space to explore, the nearby botanical gardens also contrasts beautifully with Collingwood’s concrete jungle

No, the venue is exclusively booked for our weddings, and we only host one wedding in a day to ensure that our staff keep a pep in their step and bring a fresh and enthusiastic face to each event.  I want my couples to feel as if the world revolves around them for the day.

Within walking distance, you'll find a plethora of trendy Airbnbs perfect for guests looking for a unique stay. Additionally, several fabulous hotels in the area offer special rates for guests when couples book with them, ensuring comfort and style for everyone attending your big day.

Definitely! We have the best aisle in the biz!  It’s literally Nature’s cathedral, a lush oasis of plants & trees that shimmer on cue in the late arvo golden light.  With a transparent ceiling that is reminiscent of an outdoor tavern, guests can bask in the beautiful seasonal shifts in light throughout the year, whilst staying fully protected from the unpredictable Melbourne weather.  

And for those couples that prefer to get married off-site in the nearby Botanical or Edinborough Gardens, we are also happy to offer a wet weather back up just in case the Heaven’s do open unexpectedly.

The beauty of Rupert is that it already arrives in style! There is literally no need to arrange additional styling if you are content to take advantage of the artfully curated, candle lit romance and lush indoor greenery that naturally elevate the space.  Most couples do organise a florist to enhance the existing beauty of the venue, particularly as a backdrop for their ceremony, or to add a splash of colour to their table scape. Others bring the whole creative shebang and go all out…magnificent disco balls, twinkling fairy lights, cascading floral ribbons or other more distinctive cultural elements are all welcome. 

When it comes to wedding guests with dietary requirements, rest assured that we take exceptional care of each individual so that you can choose the menu that tickles your fancy without worrying about anyone feeling deprived. We provide tailored options that cater to various dietary preferences, whether these are specific allergies, or foods avoided for cultural/religious reasons, allowing everyone to enjoy the celebration to the fullest.

Absolutely! So long as we have notice, you are welcome to arrange a 'First Look' photo session with your photographer before the wedding, with no extra charge for this special experience. It’s a wonderful way to create a memorable, intimate moment with your partner before the festivities begin. You’ll have plenty of time to take advantage of the beautiful backdrops for photos in the venue without the pressure of greeting guests.
