I have worked in hospitality & events for over 10 years, and have been with Mounts Bay Sailing club for 6 years now. Our Liquor License is until 12am Monday-Saturday and 10pm on Sundays.
During October - April there is a $40 minimum spend requirement per
person on the bar.
Mounts Bay Sailing Club is a Dry Hire venue, this means you are free to
utilise the space how you see fit. Typical third party arrangements
would include decorations, catering, furniture & marquee (if outside),
and entertainment. We're more than happy to pass along
recommendations for suppliers.
Kilburn Hall & Col Taylor come with inslucive furniture available for use.
Typical additional costs include:

Ceremony on the lawn (If reception is in Kilburn Hall or Col Taylor)
Unfortunately, no. There is an external & internal staircase leading to both rooms, along with an additional staircase to provide access for event suppliers.
However, we have begun the planning stages of implementing a lift and further accessibility features - watch this space!
Yes! We have up to 70 bays available within our grounds (provided on a first come basis) with additional (free & paid) parking just outside our venue.
Please note that parking can not be reserved with the exception of special vehicles (Buses, limousines, catering).
Yes! Our Riverside Lawn is fully licensed, ensuring your guests can enjoy an alcoholic beverage right by the waterfront. There is no additional licensing fee.
Unfortunately, no; all beverages must be purchased on premises. MBSC is a fully licensed venue, as such, BYO is not permitted.
We understand you may like to have something special serviced to your guests., and we will work with you to source this product for you! Additional cost may be incurred for this service. Ask us for more information.
Your bond is fully refundable and will only be accessed to cover any unpaid amounts owing and damage or loss of MBSC property including but not limited to our grounds (including reticulation), facility, furnishings or property, additional cleaning, rubbish removal.
MBSC does not coordinate events, we only manage the bar on the
actual day of an event. If you need an event coordinator please
contact us for recommendations.
Sure can! MBSC can put you in touch with catering suppliers who are familiar with our facilities. You can choose to use any supplier you wish or self-cater if you prefer. We recommend inspecting our kitchen facilities prior to your event so you can get the most out of your catering experience.
Yes, this is possible! Although, must be arranged prior. Our ability to provide this service will be dependent on events booked the day prior & location of your event.
Attendance of MBSC staff outside normal hours may attract additional charges. Please let us know your particular requirements. Please note that MBSC staff attendance are generally not required to provide access to The Riverside Lawn.
