We had the Regency Room and that was just perfect for our Wedding of 180 guests. We had our ceremony in the foyer and reception in the main room. Mario was amazing with helping us organise everything. He was supportive, accommodating and gave us great advice! Highly recommend this Manor on High!

After our first venue cancelled 6 months before our wedding The Manor on High saved the day! The team at the Manor on High were unbelievably helpful, accomodating and so quick to respond. All throughout the changes to restrictions during COVID lockdowns they were supportive when it came to tough decisions and very informative and well prepared for a COVID Safe wedding. Tony was a great resource with an abundance of experience and a pleasure to work with.

is a reception with a cash bar tacky?

The Manor on High

Dear Bride,

The cash bar option is a tricky one. When you have guests who have spent time and money to come celebrate with you bearing gifts and well wishes, it could feel a bit cheeky then asking them to pay for drinks.  At a Ball, Function or Corporate event... a cash bar is the way to go but for a wedding here are some other options.   As a venue, we invite couples to BYO alcohol at no extra charge and our bar team serve from the bar on the night.  That way you can bulk buy your alcohol saving money on typical bar prices making it more acheivable for you to offer drinks to guests at no charge.  Another way we handle this is by custom made packages tailoring food and beverage packages based on number of drinking guests.  We would be more than happy to talk you through the above options so if you need to, don't hesitate to give us a buzz.

Good luck for the big day!

Karyn, Manor on High

should i book my venue based on budget or based on how much i love it?

The Manor on High

Dear Bride + Groom,

Congratulations on the engagement... Let the fun begin!

This day is one of the biggest days of your life so yes it's important to have that dream wedding but it's also important that you're not over committed and the day becomes stressful because you feel like you'll be paying for it for the rest of your life!

Here's a practical approach....Before you start looking at venues, make a list of the non negotiable features that you are looking for in a venue and an estimate of the per person spend you would be happy to pay.  When you visit each venue mark off those essential features, whether it fits your price range and a star rating of how much you loved it.

When you are in the decision making process weigh it all up.  Have I got everything I want in a venue?  Is the pricing OK?  and just how much do I love it?  Remember, you can always negotiate with venues whether it's on the price point or the inclusions.  Our team tailor make wedding packages to suit budgets, needs and wants so if you have fallen in love with a venue and the price point is a little higher than you are comfortable with, it's definitely worth chatting to the venue and seeing what can be done to get closer to the budget.

Be sure to let us know if we can help you in creating your perfect celebration!  Good luck with the big day.

Karyn, Manor on High

How far in advance should I book my wedding venue?

I don't want to miss out on my dream venue. So, how far in advance should I make the booking?

The Manor on High

Dear Sarah,

It really depends on the day of the week you are looking at and the time of year but if you've found your dream venue and they have your date available, lock it in.  A nominal deposit is normally required but then at least you are confident in the knowledge that you've secured the perfect venue and ideal date freeing your time and focus to organise the other components for the big day.   Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months are mostly booked 12 - 18 months in advance with the cooler months typically offering more options and flexibility.

Wishing you all the very best for your big day!

Karyn, Manor on High
