The Plaza Ballroom situated at the Regent Theatre on Collins Street is a beautifully restored Ballroom dating back to 1929.

The Plaza Ballroom is a fully catered venue in house and therefore we do not permit external caterers other than Kosher catered events.

Hi, I would like to know if wedding venues usually have a changing room where we can change our clothes? And if not, what do you suggest?
Plaza Ballroom
At the Plaza Ballroom, we include a bridal suite in our Wedding packages for the couple and their bridal party. We set up mirrors, a coat rack to store spare outfits and comfortable lounge furniture in the room. The bridal suite is accessibe by the couple and their bridal party prior to guest arrival on the night of the Wedding, where they will be served canapes and beverages by their own dedicated bridal waiter. After formalities begin, you're welcome to use one of our secondary bridal rooms closer to the reception area throughout the night, if you wish to change or take a quiet moment away from the festivites.
Searching for wedding venues with a late licence
Hi there - can you recommend venues with a late alcohol licence? We don't want to kick our guests out at 11pm. Somewhere we can stay late.
Plaza Ballroom
The Wedding packages at the Plaza Balroom are either 5 hours or 5.5 hours. We can either shift your event timings so your Wedding begins later, or if you wish to extend your Wedding, we would be happy to accomodate! We would need to roster on staff for longer, and keep the drinks flowing so there is a small charge pp per half hour or part thereof for your total guest numbers. We can also arrange a supper canape, for an additional cost.
How to make sure our wishing well is secure at our reception
We're having a wishing well instead of a gift registry. I had a thought, about the security of the actual wishing well itself as it will contain cash. Any tips/advice?
Plaza Ballroom
At the Plaza Ballroom, we request for the wishing well to be locked prior to the event and for the key to be kept with a trusted family member or friend, for the duration of the night. The wishing well is set up initially in the foyer where all guests enter into the venue and is in a highly visible, high traffic location. This gives an opportunity for guests to make their way to the wishing well while being served canapes and pre-dinner drinks on trays. Once formalities begin, our Event Operations Manager will lead one of your trusted family members to move the wishing well from the foyer to the secondary location, which is usually right beside the bridal table. This is again, in a highly visible area right next to your bridal table and a family table. Guests can continue to access the wishing well to drop off cash or presents. At the end of the night, our dediated bridal attendants will assist your family or bridal party in packing up the couple's belongings, including the still locked wishing well for them to take home.
