Do you have onsite parking?

As we are an inner city venue, we have no affiliation with any carparks. The closest carpark to us is a Wilson Carpark, located at 45 Eagle Street. The pedestrian exit to the carpark will lead you to the lower boardwalk directly in front of our boats (perfect if you have any guests travelling with mobility issues). Evening and Weekend parking is $18 flat rate, but this is significantly more during business hours Monday - Friday. Please note that whilst we can recommend this carpark due to its ease of access to our cruise departure location we are not affiliated with Wilson Parking and any bookings need to be made directly through their website. https://www.wilsonparking.com.au/ We are also in a close vacinity to most public transport options. We are about 50m away from the Eagle Street Pier City Ferry/Hopper dock, 250m from the Riverside Terminal City Cat Stop and about a 10 minute walk from Central Train Station.

Is there a smoking area on board?

No, there is no smoking on board our vessels as they are licensed restaurants.

Are the boats air-conditioned?

Due to the age of the Kookaburra Queens, they are not equipped with air-conditioning, however once the vessel is moving with the windows open and the fans on, there is quite a beautiful breeze that runs through all spaces. On the other hand, our newer vessel Voyager, is fully air-conditioned on both levels.

Are the boats wheelchair accessible?

The only boat that is wheelchair accessible is the Main level of the Kookaburra Queen II, this space is also equipped with a wheelchair accessible bathroom. However bear in mind, that we can only fit a standard push wheelchair on board and not larger motorised varieties.

The Kookaburra Queen paddle wheelers are a true icon of the Brisbane River. Revel in the vintage look and feel and enjoy picturesque views of Brisbane City under the stars on the wrap around decks or dance the night away on one of the many dance floors.

The open air observation deck is the perfect location for a ceremony. Walk down to aisle towards your true love with the magnificent city and river view as a backdrop.

The Kookaburras offer many perfect photo opportunities, from the open-air observation decks to the grand staircase with its elegant brass is offset with royal-like red carpet, making for a truly unique image to treasure forever.

The large open plan decks offer a range of seating plans, be it a classy cocktail affair or a traditional sit down reception. Each deck offers a dance floor and bar, with the entire vessel provided for by a full commercial kitchen below deck.

Our experienced wedding coordinators have extensive knowledge and contacts in the industry and can recommend everything from music to photography that will bring your vision to life.

From the initial inquiry to the event itself your personal Wedding Coordinator will assist you every step of the way and will be on hand to make your special day a truly magnificent experience.

FAQ

Is there a room hire fee?

No, we do not charge a room hire fee, instead there is a minimum spend which will come out of your total food and beverage spending. The minimum spends are different depending on which space is required

Are we able to view the spaces before we book?

Of course, we would love to meet you in person and give you a walk through of your venue prior to booking or the big day. Just talk to your wedding co-ordinator and book in a time to come in and meet.

Can we BYO alcohol?

No, due to our licensing we are unable to allow BYO, but we do offer a wide variety of beers, wines and spirits at reasonable prices.

Do you include any styling or entertainment?

Unfortunately, we do not offer any styling or entertainment, we leave the option open to our clients to choose what will best suit them and their style. However we have worked with a vast range of different suppliers and can offer some suggesstions or help find what you are looking for

We are having a ceremony on the boat, are we able to do rehearsal prior to the day?

You are more than welcome to come on board with your celebrant and bridal party prior to the day to do a run through in your venue. Appointments are essential, please talk to your wedding co-ordinator to book in time

Faultless. Ours was the first same sex wedding on KOOKABURRA,.The event coordinator, Natasha, was of great help. The boat was decked out in all its finery, including three rainbow flags flying proudly. The food was great, drinks package even more so. The wait staff were so friendly and supportive. If we ever had another wedding!!! Then we would charter KQ again.

Kookaburra Queen I was the perfect location for both ceremony and reception. Originally on other boat, we switched venues at the last minute due to predicted bad weather.
