What happens in case of bad weather?

All of our reception venues are indoors. In the case of an outdoor ceremony, your coordinator will work with you upon booking to arrange a suitable wet-weather backup.

What is the cancellation/postponement policy?

Notice of cancellation MUST be in writing: Notice of more than 120 days – full deposit is refunded provided the room is rebooked by another event on your original date and deposit paid. Notice of 60 to 120 days – 50% of monies is retained by Customs House, 50% of monies is refunded provided the room is rebooked by another event on your original date and a deposit paid. Notice of 7 to 60 days – all monies are retained by Customs House. Notice of less than 7 days – all monies are retained by Customs House, plus you will be charged for 75% of catering costs and room hire associated with your reception.

An Event Coordinator is on duty Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday for site inspections. Appointments are required.

Can I bring my own suppliers?

Yes you are more than welcome to work with your preferred suppliers however we do have a list of trusted and recommended suppliers who know our venue well. You can view a full list of our recommended suppliers here: https://customshouse.pixieset.com/suppliers/

What is included in your packages?

Our packages are all inclusive of venure hire, food and beverage package for up to a 5hr duration. There are some upgrades available to the packages however everything is clearly listed in our wedding compendium. There are no hidden costs.

Do you have parking on site?

Strictly no parking on site with the exception of a bridal car. Limited access is provided to off load equipment and supplies required for events.

Can we BYO food or drinks?

Unfortunately not (with the exception of your wedding cake) though we do have a very extensive menu and beverage offering. Unfortuantely we do not cater to specific cultural cuisines, however we do cater for all dietary requirements.

Are there any restrictions on decorations?

Due to the heritage nature of Customs House please note:

Real candles are not permitted – candles must be LED (including any cake candles)
No helium balloons are permitted
No items can be affixed to any ceilings, walls, or furniture

Customs House was phenomenal! We were so fortunate enough to secure the River Room which opened onto the River Terrace over looking Brisbane River and the Story Bridge. Our wedding was small - only 40 guests. Sharon, the event co-ordinator with Customs House was so easy to work with and accommodated all our needs to make sure our day was memorable. From the moment guests arrived, the staff showed professionalism and a high quality of service. The Bride was greeted by Matt with a glass of Champagne. The food and beverage service staff were polite and attentive to each guest. A special mention to the quality and quantity of food - the menu selection made it difficult to choose, but everything we chose was of superior quality and delicious. I cannot thank the team at Customs House for their brilliant service.

Sophisticated, stylish and iconic. After looking at dozens of potential wedding venues in Brisbane and other areas in South East QLD, nothing even came close to Customs House. Stunning venue aside the team at at Customs House are what made for the most incredible celebration. If you are looking for a wedding venue like no other then definitely look at Customs House.
