Hey there Lovers , I'm Mel Bond the General Manager of Parkwood Weddings and have had the pleasure of being with the company for 10 years and I'm still loving every moment. Would not go anywhere else. Everyone at Parkwood was so kind, genuine in their making our day perfect and understanding budget constraints. With the budget the team at Parkwood included things that may have had prices add ons only because they believe that everyone deserves the best would recommend everything they did along the way for our wedding. Look, the service and professionalism were perfect. The team at Parkwood are highly professional in service, the attitude of all staff was impeccable and went out of their way to make our night was perfect. After the photos, a staff member come over to us and asked if we wanted water or a drink or something to eat before we met the guests. Parkwood staff gave a very professional, experienced, and friendly service with everything they did.

From our first time meeting with Mel, 12 months prior to our wedding Mel accommodated all of our wants and needs, especially being a mixed cultured wedding, Mel was able to not only be culturally appropriate, but was able to identify the needs we had, ease our nerves, and overall made our process going into our wedding a memorable experience. Mel's engagement with us over the 12 months put a lot of our stress at ease, with her experience and productivity just made the overall process an easy one, with the both of us being able to focus on the small things. We would recommend Mel and the Parkwood team to any couple looking at getting married. From the time we went and had a enquiry walkthrough of the Parkwood ceremony area, we were sold right there and then. The Parkwood ceremony area provides a beautiful outdoor feel that not many other venues offer in Queensland. Mel & the team were able to create a beautiful stage for us that our wedding guests still talk about to this day. We couldn't be happier at the way our ceremony looked, was decorated and staff offered on our wedding day. Mel, Jemima and team provided us the most amazing wedding day any couple could ask for. Mel & the team took the stress away from us on our wedding day for us to be able to just enjoy our day as Husband and wife. The reception at Parkwood was not only accommodating for our wedding of more than 150 guests, from the detail in decor with the reception room to the food and beverages was the best of the best. Well what can I say, Mel really has so much love and passion for what she does. From the start to finish, she was on point making sure everything went smoothly. Making sure any little changes we had were made. Capturing some cute photos for us to has straight away. She made us feel so comfortable and well looked after. Everyone loved her. Mel helped make sure we had the fairy tale dream wedding. The ceremony venue was beautiful, so much space and a beautiful big arbour. I loved the archway isle. Our reception venue was a perfect size for our large group, enough room for a dance floor as well as a photo booth. Accessible toilets and the service was outstanding. They made sure my husband and I had enough to eat and drink, and the layout was just cool.

Mel made sure that everything that we wanted for our wedding... happened. She made us feel comfortable and stress-free. Made sure our guests were well catered for. Mel & her team are truly amazing. Would highly recommend Parkwood weddings to any couple getting married. They're accommodating to everyone's dietary needs. The food was delicious. The drinks were regularly filled and overall the staff made sure we were taken care off for the whole night.

From our first time meeting Mel - her warmth, understanding and ability to capture our vision of what we wanted was exceptional and that continued right up to the Day! Even thinking of the little things eg. She had put aside food for our MC to enjoy at the end the night. That was thoughtful of Mel and was appreciated. Mel and the staff were very thoughtful and accommodating. Service with a smile! The venue was beautiful and intimate. A hidden gem.

How far in advance should I book the wedding venue?

If we are waiting for two years before we get married, how far in advance should I look at/book the venue?

Great Question!

Parkwood Weddings are currently only accepting wedding bookings for 2025 and 2026 . We would never normally book more than 2 years in advance as prices can change with cpi increases to Food and Beverage as well our our amazing suppliers with work within our packages also may review and increase their prices eg.Accomodation Cost , Transport, Florists etc......

Please note peak season is normally March - May and September - October these are usually the dates that sell out first . January, February ( Storm Season) and June & July ( Winter) are off peak. Although I LOVE winter time on the Gold Coast as to be honest there is normally less chance of rain and its so nice and cool men are wearing full suits.

If you do have a particular date in mind eg. 26.06.2026 ( You might love the numbers ) . You wont be alone as alot of couples are drawn to dates like this as it might be easy to remember , like it for numerology etc...I think I have heard everything under the Sun.

Also every couple is different some are so excited after getting engaged they want to plan and organise everything straight away ( 1.5 - 2 years ahead) . Other Couples are cruisy and book a venue from 3 months - 1 year ( We cant guarantee the oriignal date you want will be available but if they are cruisey they will probably change the desired date.

Advice to you - Find the Venues you are interested in and send them an email - They will let you know if they can accept the booking .

No Wedding Party Table at Reception

I am looking at venues for our reception and along with that table set ups. We prefer long tables. I have always loved the idea of not having a wedding party table and sitting amongst our guests. At this stage we are not having a formal wedding party just my nieces and nephews as flower girls and ring bearers. Does anyone have any examples of how couples have done this? Or advice for and against doing this?

Dear Bride & Groom,

We love it when our Bride & Grooms sit amongst their guests on the banquet tables , however may I also suggest you consider a Sweet Heart Table?

You will find you dont spend alot of time seated as you will always be up mingling and speaking with your guests , however when you do get a minute during the night its lovely to have a space for you and your husband to take a breath together and enjoy that you have just married each other.

I would also suggest it works well when you are doing the speech component of the night - Its nice for you to be by the Mc and for all your guests to be able to direct their speeches of well wishes and stories towards you both.
