Nigel started as an apprentice at Jarmers Restaurant,Kensington, South Australia in 1984.
In Jan1989 he travelled the US then arrived in England June1989, based in London working in 1 of ten privately owned boutique hotels withthe Mountbatten Hotel Covent Garden, part of the Edwardian Hotel group nowowned by Radisson Hotels.
Nigel worked from the kitchen to food and beverage managerby the age of 22. He then returned to Adelaide and worked in acclaimedestablishments as The Universal Wine Bar, The Oxford, Jolleys Boat HouseRestaurant & Charlicks Feed Store.
He spent 2 years as Executive Chef overseeing two of HongKong’s finest restaurants and is now back in South Australia.
From 2004 d'Arry's Verandah Restaurant was home until thelaunch of The Elbow Room
