OVERVIEW
Each couple begins their journey to the dance floor with a complimentary consultation. This allows me to find out all about your big day, and begin to plan your dance.
Are you happy to get by with a few steps, or want a complete knock-out performance danced with confidence? Or maybe something in between?
Having a personal Wedding choreographer will help you achieve the dance of your dreams, and give you memories to treasure along the way. This is a one-on-one personal experience for you both, tailored to bring your vision to life.
Each lesson takes 45 minutes, and is booked at a time that suits you both. Lessons are taken in a private boutique studio space, at your own pace, with absolutely no prior experience necessary.

I have a fierce love of working with couples and sharing my true passion with them. From teaching dance routines on the school playground as a child, to graduating University with a Bachelor of Arts Dance degree, I know first hand what Dance can do for people. I’ve had experience working with students of all levels and skills - even those with two left feet! I thrive on seeing my clients grow as they discover just what they can achieve with a little time, help and guidance.

This really depends on a few things;
1- How you want your dance to look? On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being shuffle around to a knock-out performance at 10. The higher on the scale, the longer I will need with you.
2- How you move together. Anyone can dance, but some need more time than others. I get a good sense of this on your free consultation when I see you move together.
3- Timeline. Is the wedding in 6 months, 6 weeks, or 6 days? Expectations have to be realistic in the given timeline.
Honestly, as soon as possible.
This doesn't mean taking 30 lessons because you started 6 months before your wedding.
Depending how you want your dance to look and feel, anything between 4 and 12 lessons should do it. If you learn your whole dance early enough, it gives you time to practice at home, build your muscle memory and let it feel natural. You'll also enjoy it more in the moment, connecting with your partner and not having to think about the steps so much.
In the beginning, something confortable and closed-toe shoes.
If you already have your wedding shoes, then learning and practicing your dance in them will help you get used to them quicker and also break them in a little so they don't hurt on the day.
I did this for my own wedding, and stayed in my heels until 11pm!
This goes for your dress too. If you have a similar style you would like to practice in, it is advised (particularly if you have a lift to work with). These 'dress rehearsals' will help iron-out any issues you may face before the big day.
Of course!
I love a mash-up for a first dance and it is becoming more popular for couples to switch things up on the dance floor. With so many cool styles of dance to choose from, you just need to pick the songs and let me take care of the rest.
Learning more than one style of dance, especially for beginners, takes a little longer so its best to start learning as soon as possible.

The Wedding Whisperer
Having a unique first dance would definitely do it, but for something a little different, hiring dance instructors to attend your 'cocktail hour' is up there.
Along with teaching kick-ass first dances for my couples, I can also teach your guests some of the basics of social dancing. Whilst you're off getting photos taken, me and a partner gather your guests at your reception venue and get them warmed up for the night of dancing ahead.
With fun dancing, and music, we also rotate partners so that guests flying solo and guests from different sides of the family get a chance to meet each other and have a little dance before you even arrive at your reception.
They'll never forget it.
Reception Entertainment thats different and out there??
We are having our wedding at AQWA in WA, we are having a cocktail wedding but we are worried the reception is going to boring and everyone is going to just sit around. What is a service/entertainment we can hire. Something that is different and out there, not at your usual wedding. Thanks :)

One of the services I offer, is a fun social dance lesson for your wedding guests. During your cocktail hour, I gather all guests onto the dance floor and teach them some fun dance moves to lead and follow with each other.
During the activity, we continue to change partners so that not only do your guests have fun, but they also get to meet each other face to face. For most, your wedding day is the first time coming together.
It's a great ice-breaker and gets everyone ready to jump on the dance floor once your band or DJ begins to play!
