FAQ

I travel Victoria-wide. The distance of travel is calculated upon quoting your event, based off your confirmed and final details.

Yes!

I have a background in all things Hospitality and hold a current food safety certificate and an eye for detail

This will depend on the timeline of your events and what time bump in is of your venue.

Generally 2-3 hours before your ceremony depending on how much I have to set up and then I stay up untill your formalities are finished and the party starts!

This is a fantastic question and one a lot of brides ask, so:

A Venue Coordinator - your venue may have a venue coordinator and it is their job to communicate with you to plan the venue details (what linen you want, how you want the room layout etc) they will coordinate the venue staff and ensure that everything the venue is proving is set up on the day, they will ensure the day goes to plan and is on track for food and drinks, they also will pack up at the end of the night, they do not contact your suppliers or tend to set up any pieces of décor you provide yourself they leave that up to your stylist and florist

A On the day coordinator- an on the day Coordinator is someone you source yourself; I support you and your suppliers; I take over the communication between you and your suppliers from 2 weeks out so that you don’t need to worry about answering any questions they may have in the lead up to your wedding day. I assist you in writing your timeline, I am there for the full day to be the communication between you and your venue in case the timeline was to change in any way, I check in on you regarding your planning and can attend your rehearsal, I can set up your décor and assist your florist in set up/set up your florals if you are doing your own. I fill in the gaps that your venue miss so that you feel supported as your day draws near.

Think of it this way:
If you are planning your wedding yourself without the assistance of a wedding planner/day of coordinator, it means up until the day of your wedding you will be answering questions from your suppliers, finding backup solutions if someone was to drop out, ensuring that all of your decor pieces are at your venue and then setting up your decor the morning of your wedding... it doesn’t sound like fun. And after all the effort you have gone through to plan this day, you deserve to relax leading into the week of your wedding. This responsibility is what an on the day coordinator takes off your shoulders.

Your venue coordinator will ensure the venue is ready and their staff are good to go- but nothing else, that's on you!

You’re on the day coordinator and venue coordinator will work together to ensure everything is correct to make the magic happen, there is no bad blood to have both of us there ensuring your day goes smoothly. Just think its 2 brains, 4 hands and 4 eyes to oversee everything, it means your peace of mind and you can focus on enjoying the day rather than checking if your decor is set up in the right place..

March 2024

If we were getting married again tomorrow, the first person we would book is Jackie; if she wasn't free, we'd change the date! Jackie was the quiet, stealthy, MVP for our DIY garden wedding in January, and her calmness and humour on the day belied the huge amount of work she'd put in over the preceding months to have everything run smoothly. We didn't know that a 'wedding coordinator' was even a thing; now, we can't imagine organising our wedding without Jackie. Her flawless communication, attitude, commitment, and cheerful presence were so so appreciated. She is a god-send, and a legend to boot! With love, gratitude, and the highest possible recommendation from Rob and Bec x x

Jackie was super helpful with planning and helping everything go smoothly on the day. She was so amazing and I honestly believe she is the reason why everything went so smoothly on the day. She helped so much with providing advice and guidance throughout the planning process. I was really confused with the timeline and she was a massive help with getting this organised. I’m so happy we had Jackie as our on the day coordinator!

Jackie, where do we even begin to express our gratitude for your exceptional dedication and hard work? Despite being unwell with your health on the morning of our wedding, your commitment to ensuring our day was perfect never wavered. Your ability to help the setup of over 150 candles and attend to every intricate detail left us in awe. Throughout the lead-up to the wedding, your organisational skills ensured that every vendor was well-prepared for the big day, alleviating any stress or concerns we had. Your presence was truly invaluable, and we can confidently say that our wedding wouldn't have been as seamless and beautiful without you. You are worth your weight in gold, Jackie, and we will forever cherish the memories you helped create for us. Thank you for being an indispensable part of our special day. Xx

We're having a decent sized wedding party (5 on each side) but there are still other friends who we'd love to include more than other guests. What are your suggestions?

Outside The Altar

There are multiple options here! some include:

Having guests that are special to you be your witness's

writing personalised letters and putting them on the table

Hidden costs of weddings

Hi there. What are some hidden costs of weddings that we might not know about upfront? Trying to work out our budget. Thank you!

Outside The Altar

Having your suppliers work later than your package!!

Having an on the day coordinator ensures you stick to your timeline so that you dont go over and then have your suppliers charge you for extra time.

Advice for getting married at an AirBnB

We’re hoping to get married at an Air BnB - and make a wedding weekend out of it. Are there any logistical things that we need to think about that would be different from getting married at a traditional wedding venue? Things we need to consider?

Outside The Altar

Check out my Tik Tok for heaps of videos on this topic!

I am a wedding coordinator and also a 2022 bride that had her wedding at an Air-BNB

Number 1, hire a coordinator- because you dont have a venue manager its a lot for you to take on yourself and things can be overlooked easily.

Also i highly recommend hiring a skip, coolroom and outdoor toilets!
