Susan has strived for many years to turn her passion for wedding planning into a career. After spending over seven years decorating cakes professionally, Susan decided to combine her knowledge of weddings and events with her extensive experience in the corporate world to create Montanna Rose Wedding Services, offering wedding planning, coordinating, styling, and concierge services.

About
Montanna Rose Wedding Services was created in 2015 whilst sitting in a chemotherapy ward, wondering what I was going to do if I beat the cancer. Seven years later and look where we are! I have extensive experience in the corporate world, 9 years professional cake decorating, creating invitations and designs for weddings and any other function you can imagine. If you truly love what you do the end result will always be perfect.

I don't think the cheapest price is best, we all love a bargain but when you are looking at the person to plan and run your day you need someone that listens, actions, has good connections with other vendors and definately makes you feel calm. Whether the bride and groom knows it or not there are 100 tiny things that can go wrong on a wedding day or it could be three big things. Your planners job is to have anticipated all of that and know how to fix things without the couple knowing. Or if they know, they should feel comfortable that their planner can/is problem solving so everything still runs smoothly.

We're having a decent sized wedding party (5 on each side) but there are still other friends who we'd love to include more than other guests. What are your suggestions?

I have always found, asking them to do a reading or perhaps be your witness for your official certificate on your special day. If the person doesn't feel comfortable being in front of a group of people you could allow them to come shopping for shoes, or assist in making decorations for the hen's night/kitchen tea.
If you are having a civil celebrant perfom your ceremony, perhaps warming of the rings can be a beautiful way to include others in the ceremony. This is my personal favourite.

Hidden costs of weddings
Hi there. What are some hidden costs of weddings that we might not know about upfront? Trying to work out our budget. Thank you!

One hidden cost that some don't think about is going over time. I have worked at weddings where they have been held at an Air BnB or a large property and everyone is having a great time and when it comes time to finish you may ask the DJ to continue on for another hour. Always check the contract you have signed with a supplier/vendor as the quoted price for their service will be a set amount but when you start adding an extra hour to the service that has been quoted for can be quite a bit more than you may think.
e.g. A supplier may quote for 5 hours $700 and any time after that can be $150 or something similar. If you feel you may do this it is a good idea to speak to the supplier prior and have the extra money with you ready. Most suppliers don't like having to chase up couples after their honeymoon to get paid.
