My name is Alexandra and I am the proud owner of Event Management by Alex - a platform which combines my two passions, weddings and styling.

My vast hospitality experience began in London but my choice of residency was always going to be Melbourne, the true heart and soul of my two passions. Not only specialising weddings, my creativity also expands into corporate and private events.

We engaged Alex as our wedding coordinator and were so incredibly impressed by her work. Alex was a great support throughout the wedding planning process and was attentive in her approach with a lovely manner. Alex was our lifesaver. Without her, we could never have had the wedding we did. We chose to have our wedding at the Fitzroy Town Hall as it is a beautiful blank canvas. The problem was that all of our friends and family were spending the day at our wedding or getting ready for the wedding. So who was going to oversee and help set up the reception venue? That’s where Alex came in and saved the day. She was easy and quick to communicate with leading up to the wedding and met up with us as well. With her experience in the wedding industry, she was able to give us a lot of tips and suggestions for things we had not even considered. She also did a site visit with us to see the venue. On the day she was a God send- the Hall had been set up as we had planned and we didn’t have to worry about a thing! At the end of the night she was back and helped pack down the hall so we didn’t have to worry. She was honestly like an extra bridesmaid in our wedding!! We would highly recommend Alex!! She is fun, easy to work with, quick in communication and her experience was priceless.

Alex saved my wedding with her incredible organisation, kindness and dedication. My original wedding planner pulled out 7 weeks before my wedding. I was left rather lost. She recommended Alex who came swooping to reassure me she would fix everything – confirm all vendors, work out timelines, set up decorations. She was true to her word. I had a circus theme with acrobats, a juggler, lion dancer, ribbon twirler and a whole bunch of balloons. We had an ice-cream cart, sweets table, photos, video, outdoor booths, sun hats. Alex organised the whole thing. She even made sure I had a wet weather plan – which saved us when it thunder stormed! The umbrellas gave us welcome shade when the sun returned. Alex met with me many times for the rehearsal and to walk through the gardens, sorting out where everything would fit. She was my main support and my main reason I made it through. She answered emails immediately even at night. If you have a complicated wedding, or anything a little out of the ordinary, Alex is the one to make it happen. I really cannot recommend her enough. Thank you, Alex, you are amazing.

Maybe a bit exhausted but excited for the future. You just had a wonderful wedding with the love of your life. Now it's time to enjoy married life and each other.

Any tips for my wedding day timeline?

My dear Bride,

Congrats first of all and enjoy this beautiful journey.

Your wedding day timeline should have enough time for everything and maybe extra time for possible unexpected delays: make up traffic, etc.

Make sure there is enough time between food courses at the reception. Food must be served, guests must have enough time to eat without beeing rushed by waiters that want to clear everything before the speeches.

Try to allow enough time for speeches. Sometimes they can take more than expected which is not a bad thing but may delay everything else. A good coordinator will pick up and save time somewhere else, however this must be considered.

Maybe make a note on the timeline for the couple to eat. This is something that is forgotten and to be honest it is very important.
