Our services include Full Wedding Planning, Partial Wedding Planning and Rehearsal and Wedding Day only Planning.

Full Wedding Planning Services

Initial consultation with the bride and groom
Ongoing consultation and advice (i.e. on wedding etiquette) as required
Preparing a budget
Preparing a schedule/timeline and checklists
Assisting with selection and booking of ceremony and reception venues
Assisting with selecting and booking an officiant (celebrant, priest, minister etc.) for the wedding
Assisting with selecting a colour scheme, theme and style for the wedding
Assisting with the design, printing and mailing out of the invitations
Tracking RSVPs and who will be attending
Assisting with selection of wedding attire and accessories
Finding, negotiating with and booking suitable vendors (i.e. caterer, florist, wedding cake maker, photographer, videographer, musicians, transportation etc.)
Reviewing vendor’s contracts and coordinating vendors
Ceremony planning
Preparing itineraries and organising guests
Attending and overseeing the rehearsal (up to two hours)
Instructing attendants about their duties
Reception planning
Coordinating the collection of gifts received on the wedding day
Wedding day coordination (up to 10 hours)
Providing a stress-free day for the bride and groom.

Partial Wedding Planning Services

You may wish to plan and coordinate some parts of your own wedding, and hand over responsibility for other parts to my company. Monique Smith Events and Wedding Planner could be asked to undertake a combination of the tasks listed above.

Rehearsal and Wedding Day Services

You might like to plan most of your wedding but may wish to have my professional service to direct everyone at the rehearsal, and to oversee and supervise everything on the wedding day to ensure it all runs smoothly.

I am willing to travel around NSW and Australia for weddings and my services can be tailored to suit your individual requirements. We cater for all budgets, large or small and offer payment plans.

How do I determine what friends to invite and leave off the guest list during covid?

I have had chronic health issues since 2013, after being diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to have implants after mastectomy and have had health issues ever since. I mostly stay in contact with my friends on social media but don't hang out with most of them in person, especially since covid. I have a long time friend that used to invite us to her events but stopped a few years ago. We still run into each other and she has asked when my wedding is and she knows my fiance, as they used to work together as managers for a retail pharmacy. Her kids and my son grew up around each other but I'm not sure if they should be on the guest list or not? She always says she misses us and we need to hang out but it never happens. I'm just not sure how to decide who we should include or not include and we are trying to stay within our budget AND keep up with social distancing during this pandemic.

My suggestion would be invite your friends that you and your fiancé are close to the actual wedding and let the rest of your friends know that you will do a dinner or something special with them on another day when this pandemic is over. Your friends should understand and respect your decision as it is a hard choice to make especially when you are trying to stay in your budget and comply with the social distancing rule during this pandemic

Is a wedding planner worth the extra cost?

My fiance and I both come from extensive immediate and extended families, we are both Aboriginal descent with my family spreading across the state of VIC and his family spreading across NT, NSW and VIC. As a result of this, we have a huge guest list (trust me, we have been brutal in trying to cut it down.) We are trying to find ways to cut costs where we can, but it is becoming time-consuming for me to research everything. I currently work full time in a job where I travel across the state regularly while studying full time and being a business owner. So my main question are they worth the extra cost?

yes wedding planners can be worth the extra cost and it comes down to how you would like to ultise them. Some wedding planners have packages available for their full services or have partial services were you can get in contact with them for advice about to plan a wedding. It sounds like you might need a wedding planners full service package to take away some of your workload and stress.
