My passion for weddings started when I helped plan, style and coordinate my brother's wedding at our family property in Shepparton, Victoria. I loved the process of helping him and his wife-to-be in their wedding journey and knew that was what I wanted to do - help other couples plan, style and coordinate their weddings without it becoming a stressful second full time job.

With such a short turn around planning our wedding, we were able to come together with Mel and consolidate all of our ideas and wishes and turn them into a solid plan that we were able to execute within about 5 weeks. Everything in our online folder was so easy to navigate and helped us to visualise what needed to be done and when ideally it should be done. Mel helped us with our rehearsal and helped us to figure out all of the timing with our music and made everyone feel at ease that we knew what we had to do on the day so that we could enjoy it and not worry about the little things. The day of the wedding everything ran smoothly, and as we had discussed. The set up of the ceremony in the garden was all done for us as without any fuss

Right from our first interaction Mel was professional yet EXCITED to hear about our upcoming day. I was blown away with the level of detail she goes into while working on your wedding. As a control freak myself I never in a million years dreamed I would have any type of planner or coordinator helping me - but Mel was committed to making sure our wedding went exactly how we wanted it to go, so we could relax with our family and friends. On the day she was always right behind us with exactly what we needed at the time, be it water after our ceremony, helping to bustle my dress or assisting guests in whatever way they needed. Which suppliers need to come to the wedding rehearsal?

What needs to be rehearsed at the rehearsal dinner? Do suppliers get involved or is it mainly for the wedding party?

Mellyrain Events

Usually you only need you Celebrant along with your wedding party. Not all Celebrants will attend your rehearsal so it's important to ask that when you book one if it's something you want. Or, if you have a Wedding Planner/On The Day Coordinato and they can attend. I would suggest a Wedding Planner over your Celebrant as they can discuss things with your Celebrant on the day (Mellyrain Events)

What does an on-the-day wedding coordinator do?

Hi! I literally did a post explaing the difference between a wedding planner, wedding stylist and an on the day wedding coordinator yesterday! For us at Mellyrain Events, on the day coordination is all about having a dedicated team on your wedding day to ensure all your wedding planning and styling requirements are executed perfectly!? We work with couples in the months leading up to thier wedding to cover every single detail of thier day to ensure everything runs smoothly so the couple, their family and their guests do not have to worry about a thing!? It can literally be anything that is important to you. For example, one bride asked us to make sure all the groomsmen did not have their phones in their pockets during the ceremony. It may seem little, but it was super important to her so knowing we had this covered made her feel relaxed leading up to the ceremony.
