Hi there, I am considering hiring a wedding content creation and capture service like @SocialSnapshots, however am unsure as to how i could work this into my budget. I already have a photographer but I'm looking for more behind the scenes content, capturing the details of my day. I am moving states to be with my partner so I'll know there will be plenty of emotions that the photographer wont accurately capture. What do you think of this sort of new service?

I'm curious why you think there will be emotions the photographer won't capture. I mean, could you simply ask them to take not only posed shots, but "behind the scenes" shots as well?
Personally, I'm skeptical you need to get a wedding content creator, for two reasons:
-- Like others have said, having more cameras in the room is not always a good thing. They get in each other's way, and shots take longer to do. People jump in with, "Could you just do that again, but look at my camera? Could you just adjust this and do it again?" Etc.
-- But I'd also ask -- why can't the photographer/videographer already do what the content creator does, except at higher quality, with better equipment and lighting?
Most content creators offer a service like: they'll take photos and videos on the day, and they upload it within 24 hours, so you can share content quickly -- as opposed to waiting weeks, months, for edited photo and video.
But you could always ask your photographer/videographer -- could you do a light edit or no edit, and give me the material within 24 hours? Almost definitely they'd ask for more money to do this. But it wouldn't be difficult for them to do. And maybe the extra money they'd ask would still be cheaper than getting a dedicated content creator.
There are two big caveats though.
1. Social media ideally likes video that is framed portrait mode and at 30 frames per second. It doesn't have to be, but that's the ideal specs. And most videographers in Australia will film video that is in landscape orientation, at 24 or 25 frames per second -- and it's not necessarily straightforward to reframe horizontal video into vertical video. They will have specifically framed the shots to look good in a horizontal orientation, so something is going to be lost when they adjust the frame into vertical mode.
2. They also won't be thinking in a social media way when they take the shots. They won't be thinking of quick-outfit-change transitions, etc.
So, if video content creation is what's important to you, there is a case to be made for getting a dedicated content creator.
For photo content creation -- I think it would be dead easy for most photographers to pick a bunch of different shots, and export them in a social-media-friendly format.

I think you only get this day once and its amazing how new ways to remember it are coming out! I absolutely think its a great idea. Content creation is restricted to phone use so as awesome as the Iphone 14 is, you'll still need your photographer and videographer. But the content creation adds another dimension. I offer a couple of ways to do this. You may use my content assistant for the day and they will use your phone to capture as much footage and photos as possible that you will have so much fun looking back over the next day. I also offer another service which is content creation on our Iphone 14 and my staff member, which you receive the next day. It will include ready made reels, videos and stills and so much footage you'll have to be careful not to spend your honeymoon on your phone. We also offer optional poloroids to take home on the night.
Wedding content creation services that can work along with your photographer can be a great investment if you're looking to capture more intimate and extra moments. These services often offer a variety of packages and options to fit different budgets and needs, and can include everything from pre-wedding photoshoots to full-day coverage of the wedding ceremony and reception.
Of course, there are costs associated with hiring wedding content creation services, and it's important to budget accordingly. It's also important to research and choose a reputable and experienced provider to ensure that you get the best possible results.
Ultimately, the decision to invest in wedding content creation services is a personal one that will depend on your priorities, budget, and preferences. However, for many couples, the investment is worth it for the lasting memories and high-quality content that will result.
This is actually something that has started to rise in popularity the United States.
While having an amazing photographer capture the day is great, there’s also that very raw behind the scenes element that can be so often missed.
With this in mind I now offer my couples the option of a “Social Media Concierge”. This is where a trustworthy and online security aware female member of my team will look after your phone or device for the day and basically follow you around taking photos and shooting some video on your phone. She can post to your socials if you’re happy for her to do so or she can just compile the content on the day for you and then you can post after.
I hope this helps!

HI I would make sure you ask your Photographer that is doing the main part of the WEdding first. Alot of Photographer's do not like working with Photographer's that arent part of their Team. It cause cause friction on the day and you dont want that type of atmosphere. Its similar to having Heart Surgeury, you invite a second Heart Surgeon along on your important operation just incase the Main Heart Surgeon doesnt do his job. If your Main photographer is okay with it then go ahead. Otherwise we provide a service where we can engagem a second Photographers that works with us as a Team to capture some the other images on the day.

Hi, thanks so much for your inquiry! If you already have a photographer booked, it might be worth asking if they have a second shooter. If they do, you can request tht the second shooter focus more on candid shots throughout the day, as it's important to you. If the photographer is working alone, then an extra shooter on the day can be a great idea, as long as they don't encroach on the job of the official photographer. If you're clear from the outset that their role is to capture more candid and auxillary shots that the official photographer might miss, you'll get heaps of great stuff.
At the end of the day, the more people capturing your wedding the better, it just comes down to your budget.
I hope that helps! Jack
